HOUSTON - Tyjanae Moore is the transgendered woman who was cited and thrown behind bars by a Houston police officer because she was caught using the ladies restroom. "I felt so belittled going to a jail over something so simple and stupid," says Moore.

A 26-year-old native of Minnesota, Moore moved to Houston to be closer to family, but after a year in Texas, she is ready to move back.

Moore was arrested Nov. 17 at the Houston Public Library in downtown. The offense? Police say despite being a transgendered female, she is still officially a man -- a man who was caught using the ladies' restroom.

State laws regarding the restrooms?  What about the economy you Jackwagons?  Everyone of those who voted for that law, need to be voted out of office.  And the idiot that authored should be run out of the country.

Yeah yeah.  I know it is Texa$$

QuoteTexas law prohibits the opposite sex from using a restroom unless given permission.

QuoteAdvocates for transgendered people say there is no conflict between the mayor's order and state law. They suggest that permission required by the state has been given to individuals like Moore through the executive order.

Enough said.

Trans Woman Speaks About Restroom Arrest

Tyjanae Moore was arrested last week for using the women's restroom at the public library in downtown Houston because police said she was still officially a man.

Moore, 26, pleaded guilty even though she was in compliance with an executive order by Mayor Annise Parker that extends the city's non-discrimination ordinance to allow transgender people to use the city restroom of their choice. The Houston Area Pastor Council, which opposes the change, has asked the Texas attorney general to determine whether the executive order contradicts state law.

So if a transguy used the men's room in the Public Library in Texas could he/she be arrested or does the "water" flow one way?
