In 1977 I made a New Years' Resolution that I have kept to this day--
"Never make another New Years' Resolution"
Having said that, I do resolve to do things from time to time. And I find that I can make resolutions any time (and keeping them is almost as hard...

)
Do resolve to better yourself. And do use the New Year as an excuse to get started. But please don't save up all the things you wish to resolve until one specific day. It helps to spread them out a little. Changing oneself is a lot like orthodontia -- you need to apply gentle, steady, constant pressure in the desired direction.
As for a resolution I make for myself at this particular time of the year (irrespective of the impending change of year,) I need to get my spending under control. One area: Wardrobe changeover is costly, so I need to start making HUGE use of thrift stores and such.
