My friend who is trans put it this way.
He was born that way not only to find out who he was meant to be, but also to teach others it's ok to do what you feel is right on the inside.
The way he put it sounded more poetic but you get the point.

I feel the same way. I may not be trans (I see myself more as andro) but I understand where he was coming from.

My dad wanted a girl. So he could dress 'her' up for the family parties.

My mom wanted a reminder of her father. Because she loved him dearly, like she loves me.
