My dad has decided that I can't have hormones until I'm eighteen. I heard that there are reversible hormones that can be taken by MTFs, but I'm not sure if there are any for FTMs. My dad says that testosterone would make me too aggressive (I have Autism, and I have trouble dealing with my anger. However, I have not attacked anyone for over six months. I only attack if I feel threatened.) because it's an anabolic steroid. How do your hormones affect you? Do they make you aggressive, and do you think they would be too dangerous for people like me?

I am MTF but I live with a female bodied androgyn who uses T for almost a year now. So I have some second hand knowledge.

As far as I know there are no reversable hormones.

As for agression, I have noticed that many of the FTM and my spouse calmed down when given T. Many of the guys here seemed to mellow out when they get T. Probably cause it is the 'right fuel' for the engine, so too speak.
The only time I have ever seen Sevan have an agression issue due too T hir blood levels of T were nearly double what they should have been. Hir hormones were adjusted, ze went to a proper level of T and the agression issue went away.

Just my observations.

There are estrogen-blocking hormones (lupron and tamoxifen, and maybe others) that can be taken if you're not done with puberty, but they can have some undesirable side-effects.  As for testosterone, some people do find it makes them more aggressive, but I've heard more reports of a calming effect.  I don't think anyone here can make an accurate prediction for how T will affect you.  I think your best bet is to talk to a health care provider who has experience with both autism and trans issues.

My psychologist has experience with transgender people and autism, though I'm not sure how much she knows about hormones. My dad agreed that if my psychologist and my psychiatrist say that the testosterone won't hurt me, he might reconsider.

T generally made me calmer. But it also gave everyone I know an excuse to blame me getting angry at them. My mom to this day tells me that I should go get my levels checked if I get angry at her.
