do I have to broadcast my transition to rest of the company?

I want my transition on job go low profile and quitely, so can I just notice some key person who I will interact with in the work? and let the news spread out by itself nature, instead of letting HR or me send out broadcast email to rest of the company (I know many people in this company knows me)?

If you want it low key, then just let it quietly filter out to the masses, tell only the people who need to know.  However this can let to much rumor and speculation. which could be hurtful.

When I came out only my store was informed, but I know it spread like wild fire throughout our district.

Do you need to tell anyone? What do you hope to achieve by telling people?
I view it as a medical condition and as that is personal I don't feel anyone needs to know, but I know that doesn't work for everyone hence the questions :P

By telling people you avoid, rumour, untruths and hopefully knock any unpleaseant behaviour on the head. Because people know, they're less likely to be shocked and suprised and therefore less likely create a fuss. The fact is if you work at a company and choose to transition there, people will know and it's better to keep control of the situation rather than let it run away from you.

This is just based on my experience with my work...I certainly haven't broadcast it to everyone but enough people know (specifically management and team leaders) that it can be managed with minimum fuss.

I actually joked that the only way I could have kept it secret was to "leave" my job at the end of one week, and then have my identical twin sister start on the monday...but even that wouldn't work.

As I am currently in the process of rewriting my company's Gender Transition Guidelines, I can say that at least your immediate supervisor, HR, and anyone who you interact with on a regular basis will likely need to know.  However, you should only have to personally inform HR and/or your supervisor of your intent to transition.  I do not know what type of business you are in or what your position is at your company, but those would be people who would likely need to know of your transition.  Ask your HR Dept if they have any Gender Transition Guidelines type of  documents.
