Susan's Place, like a lot of other sites on the web, offers something very valuable - outside criticism/thoughts/ideas from people you are never, ever, going to get to talk to in real life. I've always been of the opinion (though I'm a total idiot) that the more sources, the more thoughts, the more advice, the more experience you can gather BEFORE you make a huge (or even small - and we often don't know at the time which is which) makes for a much better decision later.
But here is the deal with advice/opinions/facts&factoids&antidotes/ideas and the rest from other people - you have to sit back and think about them by first removing yourself from the argument. The question is not if you like what they say or not, the issue comes down to 'is what they said true and possibly relevant to my life?"
Then, and only then, ask yourself (without any prejudice to the origin of the information): Can I use this, apply this, is it worthwhile to me?"
Sure "T" has helped a lot of people, but there are a lot of people that it didn't help. Only you can make that decision.
