Well, I'm on my 3rd day on T. On a relatively low dose from what I have read. So far no real changes other than sore throat which I know is normal. The thing is, I'm really tired. Like incredibly tired. I force myself awake in the morning, am wide awake for 6 or 7 hours, and then I'm really sleepy again.

No complaints because I'm enjoying getting solid sleep. Normally I can't sleep well at all. But is this something to worry about or no?

Edit: I know ya'll can't give me a medical answer or anything. I'm just wondering if this happens to other guys when they start T or not.

I'v read it was a normal side effect, tho an annoying one if you ask me. But erm, my knowledge is from reading ,not yet from experience.

It's not unusual to experience 'flu like symptoms' when first starting so you will be ok.....

I think it's pretty normal. I'm about a month in and now I do nothing but eat and sleep. Somehow, this has made me lose weight so I'm not complaining  ;D

Nathan.

For the first few days I got really tired so I think it's normal.

That happened to me in the beginning. I'm now 9 months on T and I'm getting tired again. I'm assuming it's because my body is changing. I don't feel mentally tired. I feel physically tired and it makes me want to sleep. It'll go away eventually.

I was actually more energetic, I fell asleep faster and slept in longer. So I guess you could say I was sleepier when I'm normally not sleepy, but should be. Normally I sleep 4 am-noon, now it's more like 1 am-1pm. I like it. I think it's the normal puberty can't-get-enough-of-slepp.

If you're having those infamous "flu like symptoms" that Firefly mentioned - you probably are just under the weather and simply hyper aware of the change. That's the usual cause of such "symptoms' on new meds, whether testosterone or insulin or viagra or sleeping pills. Shocker, sometimes if it looks like a cold and acts like a cold it actually is a cold.

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, started to get the sniffles today so I'm definitely getting a cold. Hopefully I get lucky enough to stop the really tired thing soon but if not oh well I guess. I'll just have to start doing stuff during the day instead of at night.

Since I started T I went through periods of a month or so when I just could not get enough sleep. I went to bed early and woke up late haha, you are going through puberty, its normal. Now it seems to be whenever I hit a sort of growth spurt.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

For myself I was really tired for 5-7 days after my shots. There was one time where I slept 50 hours over the course of 3 days (and I was still tired). I don't think it's something that major. I'd probably make note of it for the next time you go back for tests.

Thanks guys, I'm relieved to hear it's not just me. I'll definitely make note and tell my doctor when we talk over the results. That's not for 3 months so I'm hoping it will have stopped by then.

Wow Nygeel that is a lot of sleep!

So, sorry for so many questions but instead of starting a new thread I'll ask here since there are already a good few of you on T. I'm starting low dose but hoping to increase it in 3 months, if not sooner as long as everything is going alright. Is it best to just wait for 3 months and then ask my doc when I see her? I think changes are going to take forever on this dose! She a physicians assistant so I was thinking maybe call and ask the day before my next visit so that she will for sure have talked to the doctor before I get there. If not I have to wait around for a phone call the day after the visit to find out if he approved it.  ::) A bit annoying, I wish he accepted new patients.

In answer to the first question, I have to say.. I just started T four days ago and I've been incredibly sleepy ever since so I think it's normal, and I'm on a low dose. About the second question, I'd just wait until the appointment but call the day before (or even a few days before) so she has time to talk to the doctor. Just my opinion though.

You are now going through puberty again. You body tends to repair and rebuild only when you are in deep sleep.
Just like a natal teen age boy you will need to do alot of eating and sleeping to build up those growing muscles.

Working as intended dude.

Zacharius: I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having this effect while on a low dose. I think I already said it but congrats!

Cynthia: Thanks, I guess I really didn't think about it like that but that does make sense. Also explains why I've been so hungry that past few days.

Tad: Hey thanks man I feel like I'm finally passing as well as you do  ;) :)

my sex drive the first 1-4 weeks was insane, jerking off 5-6 times a day, and it actually got me into a bit of trouble.  but it has died down, or maybe i have just learned to control it. I do get morning boners every morning, interesting feeling.
