Well I went through 9 bottles of wine (the '04 Pinot Noir and Pinor Gris were all outstanding, but the '07 Cab was nice, and the rest were just  Chardonnays), had a nice Shepard's Pie dinner for 6 last night, and a nice romantic dinner for two today.  The hot tub tonight in the light cold rain was spectacular.  Gave nice stuff, got nice stuff.  You know, Xmas.

It's an East Coast thing, they do it because they can't get good varietal and estate wine for under $10.

I got badass presents!
Stories From The Moon, a album I've wanted for a long time (features members from the band Miranda Sex Garden, as well as others)
The Death of Bunny Munro, a book by Nick Cave
Dervish House, a science fiction book set in Turkey
Twin Peaks, a box set with all episodes
Bone, all issues of it, in colour, and also a bonus comic
A pair of mittens
A book with Oriental words of wisdom
A cell phone, a Sony-Ericsson Xperia x10 mini pro.
5 movie tickets

Yayyy!!! I'm so happy! Still, I had to hear a lot of she, her, daughter, "my my, you've already become a woman", etc.

I had traditional Christmas food. Ham, sausage, meatballs, Jansson's Temptation (a potato dish with anchovies), plums in sweet sauce, a salad with celery, Christmas Must (traditional soft drink, has its origins in another beverage made fom juniper berries).

I hope you have all had nice celebrations, regardless of religions and such things. Remember, the holidays are to be spent with people near and dear to you. This doesn't have to mean family. It can be spent on an internet café while munching gingerbread cookies, or having a movie marathon with friends, or anything. It's supposed to be a happy occasion, yet so many forget this.
