a real function of boots

I thought that women's boots are for fashion and beauty, whether they are thigh or ankle high. But I realized a real function of boots after I moved to here a snowy area. It prevents water and slippage. Usually I wear sneakers, but they are very slippery in snowy roads.

I purchased a pair of ankle boots at wal mart when I visited Portland, US, last October.

I never thought they could provide any practical function. Nowadays I wear them nearly everyday to walk in snowy and frozen roads here. They costed just $20! I should have purchased long thigh-high boots there, too!

Moreoever, the boots look so plain, and nobody here asks whether they are for women or men, as many men here wear shoes with 1-2 inch height of heels. Mine is about 3 inch, but so much unnoticeable.

Just do it.

I have yet to use my boots in the snow, but I love the ones I have.  They are knee high with 2 or 3 inch heels.  I love them! :)

Stiletto heeled boots + ice = trip to the emergency room.
Heeled boots have no 'purpose' other than to look good. You don't see hikers or mountaineers in high-heeled boots.

Don't suppose you're talking about my wellies which I use on my allotment.

So do my fiancé's Newrocks, but they are men's heels, not high-heels. Big difference.
