,greetings all, im 19 and 7 months with estrogen + progesterone pill and 1 and a half month with spironolactone (aldactone). Since i started spiro, i notice that my appetite increase a lot, my diet was ruinned. From my regular meal of 3x a day, with 1 and a half cup rice, to a 4x a day meal with 3-4 cups of rice. I always want to eat, i want to eat every food i can see. When i see junkfoods, i eat them. If i see mango, i eat them. I see barbeque, i go eat. And i always want rice, im starving with rice. I gained almost one and one fourth kilograms since i started spiro. I dont know if its a part of the effect of the medicine or just psychologicaly, but all i know, my appetite is messing up. My friend thought me im pregnant. .lol. .do you think girls this is normal? Here's my latest pic on transition http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/hs062.snc6/167246_182539518431868_100000274624042_598945_8188280_a.jpg my boobs starts to grow now. Breast changes are more noticeable, im still watching my hips and butt. I want them grow, i want curves. .lol. .but im getting bigger and fatter now. .i cant resist eating, i cant start dieting, i always wanna eat. Im confuse :D

Yeah it will your body is changing it needs resources to build the new structures.

Psst the new structures are a big pair of boobies!
I think it's permissable to gain some weight during the period of transition where your body is changing rapidly then you can loose any extra flab later... If your on hormones the fat will goto the correct girly places.

Yes I got similar Feeding desires too at the start of my transition. They've subsided however :/

Doesn't sound abnormal to me. I think I eat 3 x as much now as I did before hormones. I am hungry all the time and I really enjoy food much more now too. I am alreadly looking forward to tomorrow's meals, lol. I actually already decided tonight what I will eat tomorrow (never ever did that before hormones) and for a second I was actually considering to already eat it right away, lol. Writing this post makes me... hungry! No kidding.

I also think that I taste much better now.

I do have days on which I am less hungry and when I do then I take advantage of it by just eating light. I don't want to get fat. So far the fat seems to be going to the right places. If I would have eaten this much before hormones then I would have had a huge fat belly, but I don't now.

,i feel the same way too but too bad i dont watch what i eat. I eat anything available on the kitchen stock^^ im really more on rice. I dont know if my gained fats are going on proper places. Just got breast enlargement, that's one for sure, and the others on my face and belly, i see my face not feminizing yet, and my hips no changes so far. Im still looking forward for the coming months. Its just my 1st and a half month though^^,

No.

Another thing is that your BMR also drops when on HRT to more of a female rate rather than a male rate. Since the average female BMR is several hundred calories lower than the average male BMR, you'll be burning fewer calories than before HRT just by living, and if you have your appetite increase, double trouble...
21 22 and loving life! (yuk. i hate getting old!)

Hell no!
My appetite increase is the best thing that ever happened to me.
You're going through puberty; eating is good for you - all those changes need fuel.
If you get obese, then you've got a problem.
Otherwise, enjoy the excuse to eat what you like  :)
