Rev. Tom Daniels is pastor of the Rio Linda Baptist Church, a fundamentalist church in northern California. He was also an activist who urged the passage of Proposition 8, to ban gay couples from being allowed to marry one another. Somehow preventing gay people from marrying is supposed to protect children, . . .

Rev. Daniels in in jail and charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 as well three or more acts of sexual conduct with a child.

I'd laugh if child molestation wasn't such a heinous crime.

So... What was today's lesson about? Persecuting gay folks and not allowing them to marry will not protect religious nut cases and allow them to bother children

Wow, considering he was a meth-head bottom using hookers, that's saying a lot.  But this guy is a real prize.

Sometimes when life is a fight - we just have to fight back and say screw you - I want to live.

Sometimes we just need to believe.

I would be shocked, but to be honest, I'm not.  How often in the news over the past couple years have we seen and heard stories about religious figures molesting kids among other un-godlike things in their church?  It's just very pathetic.  It's a class case of "Do as I say, not do as I do."

Makes me sad for the kids that authority figures use them and abuse them and they are being told to grin it and bear it for the good of the church and god.  It's ugly and I wish nothing but pokers hotter than the molten core of our earth to be stuck up all those evil bastards asses.

This story is only child's play (pun intended) compared to the real damages caused by the brainwashing known as religious morality.

It's funny how religious morality seems to apply to everybody except for the people who preach it.  That must be very convenient for them.

Why am I not even slightly surprised?

As my great-granny used to say, "It's them as has summat to hide as shouts loudest."

Sounds like something off Jerry Springer, or daytime TV.

Jerry Springer does not go near issues involving child abuse and sex with children.  He has some standards.

It is really unfortunate, religions do cover and hide wolves everyday. There are child molesters in every religion posing as sheep, heads of the churches. It is disgusting. In this day and age why do parents trust their kids with people that they cannot possibly know?

The hypocracy of religion is ridiculous on so many levels it is not even funny.

Becuase in this day and age you can't parent in a vacuum.  You have to trust others with your kids, whether its the neighbor, the sunday school teacher, etc.  You do the best you can and try to teach them right from wrong, but at the end of the day you have to accept that if someone is determined enough to harm your child they're going to find a way and there's very little you can do about it.
Our biograhies are our own and we need to accept our own diversity without being ashamed that we're somehow not trans enough.

Regan, you are right. In the end people you know very well are child molesters and you don't know it until it is too late.
