Alright so I just got a harness that my awesome friend made for me so now I'm interested in converting my packer into an STP.
I don't want to use the medicine spoon because I don't wanna have to do a lot of learning that area. If you've made an STP or have an idea for one that you don't mind sharing I would love to hear it. I'm thinking flexible tubing but I'm not sure on what glue to use to connect the tip to the tubing and such. Then there is the receptacle. I've heard a few ideas but I'm curious which has worked best for any of you.

I'm interested in hearing it even if it is an off the wall suggestion. The cheaper the better because the more expensive it is the longer I have to wait to make it. Since you all will be giving me suggestions, if I find one that works well, then I will post which idea I used, the supplies I used, and instructions on how I made it in another thread. and hmm i wish i knew andrew. i use the travelmate. i know theres ideas floating around here, and im not exactly sure what youd'd want. but ive heard the coffee lid thing and such. sorry i dont got any ideas =( im sure someone else will have some methods though

Hey thanks guys 🙂 Yeah I want to make it an stp packer but the only vids I've seen don't give much detail or they just use a medicine spoon which doesn't work for me. I'll try searching through the site. I seem to recall (maybe it was Lordkat?) saying he had figured out how to make one but had issues finding the right glue. 

This guy uses a funnel along with a flexible tube and a packer.  Since you don't want to use a medicine spoon what would be your preference?

Thanks for the link sonopoly 🙂 From what I saw he uses the travelmate which has a medicine spoon type head so that isn't quite what I'm looking for but thank you for posting the link because it showed me exactly how to go about making the hole.

I'm currently working on an idea of my own with this...I was planning to use super glue and just double-checked: if you allow the seam to seal properly (takes about 2 hours, apparently) it's pretty much waterproof. At the least it's a good starting point.

I started off with the medicine spoon but, well, flow is a bit difficult to control when you've gotta go. I've been working on what to use as a larger receptacle because I like the stream that comes out of my medicine spoon (call me weird, but I'm picky about the stream).

I've seen silicone funnels for kitchen use, similar in concept to the baby bottle nipple but you could probably trim it to shape and they've got a different sort of nose on them.  The nipple packer I have seems to be glued together with something like clear silicone aquarium sealant, that would probably work quite well, given that it's designed to be watertight.

Im thinking of doing a blue peter impression and using a fairy liquid washing up bottle. Cutting the top off it melting the edges so they dont rub, then attatching the tube to the opening putting it all in place and hoping it stays there during the day

Kareil- That's a good idea. Next time I get to the store I was thinking about looking at small funnels of some sort. Like a small funnel with a long spout so that the long part sticks out enough to use it one handed then superglued to a soft, durable, squishy tube (maybe aquarium tubing?) that goes through the packer. Just a rough idea so far.

James- That's a cool idea I had to look it up to figure out what it was but it looks and sounds like a good idea

Air line tubing is going to be too narrow unless you've got a *really* weak stream, but maybe you could find something else in an aquarium store?  The air hose I've got is 1/4" outside diameter, I just measured the tubing in the (older version with the wider tubing, not sure what they're using now) STP-Fitz I've got and it's 11/16", and I find that too wide.  A hose from a small gravel cleaner was sitting around my bathroom so I measured it, too - it's 7/16" and might be a reasonable size.  I might grab a funnel the next time I'm at the store and try that size tubing myself...

Yeah, I guess I'm going to have to re-think the tubing. I know I need something that will be bendable enough that the packer won't look like it has a hard on. Thanks for posting the sizes, it'll give me a vague idea. 🙂 Maybe I'll look around at a hardware store and see what I can find. Thanks again man

head to a hardware store like lowes or home depot..they have all kinds of different tubing of all different widths. my advice would be the latex tubing
