So, I was on-again/off-again in my early twenties and I'm starting up again. I got far enough that I had nearly a-cup boobs.

For anyone that has been in that situation where you started up again after a long time and had some development from before, what were some of the effects you noticed right away? I swear my nipples and breasts started getting perky right away. They definitely feel firm again. Is this psychosomatic, or has anyone experienced this effect?

Well, I never waited super long periods of time after going off (a year at most), I always rebounded quite a bit faster after getting back on HRT. This year I self-medicated for 6 months of HRT (mid-December through mid-June), then stopped for a month while I got serious and decided to see a therapist and a doctor, and then got onto prescribed HRT at the beginning of August. I'd say breast development is at about 9 months-ish, things like facial fat redistribution is back at about 5 months.

While it might be strange, the thing I noticed most was how fast T wreaked havoc when I went off - many changes reverted in a matter of weeks. Thanks to finally getting serious and accepting myself, I'm never doing that again ;)

I guess 20 plus years is part of the Discussion.   Yeah that was a long time ago.  I stopped for a myriad of reasons, all of which were lies.

When I restarted I really did not notice anything spectacular.  But I did finally felt free, as if I had been drunk for so long.  And then The hash lifted, with the first "E" tablet.

I've been off again on again a couple of times.  What I noticed is that the changes that took a while to develop originally, came back quicker after being on again.  But then again being off made me feel like I was morphing *so* quickly back where I started, that a good part of it all may just have been in my head?  Basically when I started I noticed about a month or two before my skin was noticeably different in texture, and after stopping and starting again I felt like my skin was noticeably changed in only a few weeks.

I feel like this is what I've been experiencing lately. I have definitely had noticeable changes in the first week since I started again.

I remember saying to my therapist at one of my first sessions - Being on hormones is like driving 5 mph in the right direction - it's slow and steady, but it's progress. Going off hormones, on the other hand, is like driving 60 mph in the wrong direction.

God, that is the truth! I never want to be that depressed again.

Hormones aren't the solution to the problem, but rather they are the correction fluid over a sentence you've already written.

Interesting to hear about this. I thought i was the only one that sort of senses this. For me it seemed like in a matter of a few weeks i was back to where i was before I stopped. And yes stopping really flips you backwards pretty fast.
