From day 1 at school, I thought people knew that I was biologically female. Even though people referred to me as he, I just figured they had connected the dots after hearing teachers call me he, and maybe, just maybe, thought "gender queer" or "->-bleeped-<-" or something along those lines. That they were being polite. Apparently some people, even after talking to me and hearing my oh-so-femme voice, still thought "male".
Lets call this certain person, "Eddy". Eddy isn't exactly a friend, more an acquaintance whom I have connected on some level with. He calls me gay constantly, which I often reply with the sooo mature "shut up" or "I know you are". Today while passing by each other in the hall, he calls out
"Are you a girl?"
I'm just kind of stunned. He shouted it too, which meant quite a few people turned around to listen in.

Him: "I heard some guy saying that your actually a girl. Are you?"
Me:"Biologically yes, but I'm actually a guy"
Him:"What the ->-bleeped-<-? You're a girl?"
Me: "Yes, biologically, isn't it kinda obvious?"
Him: "No! I thought you were a guy! What the ->-bleeped-<-? I thought you were just gay or something!"
Some Other Kid: "What?"
Him: "He's a freaking girl!"

It was awkward as hell. I've never thought that I passed at all. At the end of the day, him and a few other guys decided it would be fun to talk about my gender f*gness quite loudly as i was passing by. Apparently he wasn't the only one who didn't know 'bout me, and that was -strangely- angered about it.

I'm flattered that I pass to some kids, but now I've ticked off a bunch of people who think I've "fooled" them or something. I have a feeling things are going to get ever so harder at highschool.

On another note, I've decided to move to Egypt. To hell with this snow >_<

I would've freaked out.

my junior high was like that. it sucks. Feels good in someways, horrible in other ways. But yeah - honesty isn't always the best possibility.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where honesty is often not the best policy.  Discretion is the better part of valor.

With respect aydan_boy, I suggest that was one of those instances where the question wasn't actually very important. He probably already knew the answer and in any case, had little interest. What he was actually doing was positioning himself in the peer group by pushing your out. From the sound of him, he needs to assert himself.

If I may suggest, next time you're in that sort of situation, you must never buckle. Stand your ground, look him straight in the eye, (do what all guys do and practice in front of a mirror), and say something like, 'That's funny, I heard you were as well.' , quick smile and walk away.

I am sorry to hear that you were put in that situation. You seemed to handle it well, and I would have to agree with Spacial's advice.

Honestly, stay strong and take comfort in the knowledge that if nothing else the fine specimen of  high school bully that you encountered will be bald, lonely, and toothless by your 10 year high school reunion.

Keep your head up, if he had to ask you were obviously passing.

I think you handled it well. In cases like that where I would say something to out myself I would just later on be like "Oh yeah, right of course I'm a girl *eye roll* I was just saying that to ->-bleeped-<- with his head. I can't believe the idiot believed me."

Totally agree with spacial.

I also agree that it sounds like a bully who is insecure in its position not only in the group but maybe in its sexuality.

Also agree that if the question was asked you obviously pass.
