I got Elaine size C breastforms several months ago, hoping it would stir her to start her transition that she's been procrastinating about, but I was wondering. Would smaller breasts or larger breasts hide a larger ribcage? She's not huge, but she's certainly not at a bio woman's ribcage size.

Wearing smaller breastforms would open up new outfit opportunities because she wouldn't have to hide the fact that she doesn't have cleavage, that would be the only reason we would get smaller ones.

Really? No replies? Not a one? Does no one know or am I being ignored now?

It's kinda up to her, really - whatever she feels most comfortable with

Not knowing Elaine's size and shape I can only go by my experience. I have a typical guys big rib cage and when I tried on outfits with smaller forms the clothes didn't look right. I had to move up to a C or D for the proportions to work. This means I have to hide the cleavage I don't have but the clothes look and fit better.

If the forms don't fit her ribcage it might look funny.

When a cosmetic surgeon considers enlarging a Transwoman's breasts, he/she is most concerned with balance. Regardless of ribcage size, the thing Elaine should look at is the size of her hips and the outline of her body. Basically, is she's larger on the bottom, she could go larger on the top.

  What's important to remember, though, is that the same size breast form will look different on differently sized people. Manufacturers label their forms as a guide but the actual cup size depends on the measurements of the wearer. The same size form will be a C cup on a smaller frame but only an A cup on a larger frame. If Elaine is concerned about passing and there's a choice of size, I would go with the smaller size.

  May I recommend  http://www.thebreastformstore.com ? They have a great sizing system; I bought forms from them quite awhile ago and was very satisfied with the fit and quality. Thankfully, I don't need them anymore ;-)

Jessica, thanks for the link, I'll check it out! As a note, the forms do fit as a C on her, or they fit in a 36C bra. I think they were medium or something. I think it really is just about proportion!

Morgan, how does Elaine see (perceive) herself?   If she's just staying with the Cs because they're there and not happy with what she sees...  What about the other women in her family?  Is she used to seeing small, medium or large breasts?  How do her bras fit?  How do her clothes fit and hang?  All of these things can and do make a difference in our self perception.

A couple of last thoughts - you generally get what you pay for.  I've never liked inexpensive foam breast forms because they just don't feel right; I think of them as cheap and tawdry.  I much prefer silicone forms (assymetric) because of their weight and feel over extended periods (all day).  They can get a bit uncomfortable when it's hot but since I wilt like lettuce when it's too warm...  I've also had good experience with the vendor JessicaR recommended and their prices generally aren't out of this universe.

Her mother has had three children so she has a large bust now, but I ah.. Saw pictures of her when she was a stripper in her youth the other day  so now I know that when she was Elaine's age, she had B cups. She only knows her immediate family, her mother and father, so she has no other references as to what her breast size could be.

The chart that the videos you sent me said that a C cup would fit her, because she wears large size dresses. Her clothes seem to look good with the forms, but we haven't tried it on the clothes we've recently bought her that fit her better and looser.

I bought hers from glamour boutique on sale, because I can't really afford to spend over 100$ It is silicone however, so that's good.

If her older and newer clothes look good and fit well, that will do lots for Elaine's self-image and esteem. 

I'm jealous.  A Sale?  It's great you were able to save a buck or two - I had to save up for a while before I could get my latest pair of prosthetics.  Some guys have all the luck... 

Please let us know how how she's doing from time to time and how you are doing now that you are on T.
