So a while back when I was doing research about natural transition I came across a list of foods that were high in testosterone and foods that were high in estrogen. Ever since then I m almost scared to eat foods that were on the estrogen list. Like anything with soy I wont touch. Am I just being crazy? Would it even make the tiniest difference if I eat a food high in estrogen?

LordKAT

foods high in human hormones?

Foods with things which mimic hormones yes, but actual hormones, nah. Eat what you will  since the massive amounts you would have to eat to really make any difference is astounding.

michael,

With respect, I suggest you are worrying over nothing.

If soya is associated with estrogen, and it originates in China/Japan, how is it that there are so many people there?

If someone has any definate information to the contrary, I will gladly back down.

You're not crazy but I think you're over analyzing things. I don't think eating foods like that will do much of anything to be noticed.

Ok, thank you guys. Im a bit OCD so if I get something in my head, I do sometimes overanalyze things, and start to worry over nothing, so this makes me feel better.

I was born into vegetarianism. I've eaten a ton of soy in my life and my T levels manage to be high. I wouldn't worry about it.

This whole discussion about choosing or avoiding a food source because it is high in phyto-estrogen or phyto-testosterone has been vigorously debated both here and on the internet.

The short answer is that you would have to eat so much food stuff of the particular pseudo-hormone to have any measurable effect that you would end up poisoning yourself in the first place.

So go ahead and enjoy that tofu-burger, or cabbage roll.  It will not have any appreciable affect on you.

So too are *all* plant based OTC vitamin supplements, guaranteed to give you bigger boobs or grow hair on a cue ball.  They don't work.

The only efficacious hormones come in a patch, pill, or shot, prescribed by your physician.

Michael.

It's great that you asked. I am positive that we are correct. But if we don't ask then we can never really know.

So, ask away.

They're right but it probably couldn't hurt to eat things higher in testosterone that you already like. There are hormones in a lot of things that are hard to avoid and men don't get more effeminate by eating them. If you want the list of high in testosterone foods my friend gave me a list that I can copy here if you want.
