Police said they found the body of 42-year-old Grafton Lee Person. He apparently had suffered from blunt-force trauma. He was taken to the medical examiner's office, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department's Gay and Lesbian Unit, Person was a male-to-female member of the transgender community who went by the name "Diamond Person."
