"When people with low testosterone levels are put into high-status positions, they show motivation to return to a low-status position," says Jennifer G. Sellers, assistant professor of psychology at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vt.

And when people with high-testosterone levels are placed into low-status positions, they appear motivated to regain dominance.

This is what Dr. Sellers and colleagues from the University of Texas (Robert A. Josephs and Pranjal Mehta) and Bard College (Matthew Newman) found in a series of three experiments. Their paper, "The Mismatch Effect: When Testosterone and Status Are at Odds," was published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology in June 2006.
The funny thing is that I have never really liked getting promotions.  I love working at a place where I either do not supervise anyone or only one or two people.  Right now I work M-F, 8-5.  hardly any stress at all.

Last place I worked at I had to supervise up to 5 or 6 people, deal with partners, CEOs, etc, etc.  Very high stress and irregular hours.  hated it so bad I said thank you when I was laid off.  LOL

Does that mean my MD is full of it when she shows me my T results?  I cant stand being a low level employe...   I mean, if the work isnt too bad I dont mind all that much... but when I see Incompitence in the management above me, I do my best to accell and knock them from there high horses and do the job right...  I usualy end up doing there work anyways so I think I should be giventhe privilage and pay to go with the responsibility....
