My countdown to SRS is now on hold.  Somethings have come up and I have had to put my SRS on hold for now/  When things improve and I get better financing, it will resume.

Am I heartbroken, yes.  But it was only in a holding pattern and not set in stone.

Hon, I am so sorry.  As you said, this is only a hold on the countdown, you have not scrubbed the mission.

I don't think I would let you scrub it anyway.  I really am waiting to light the bonfire with that list.  After you put your name on it, of course!

Janet, I'm sorry to hear about the financing problem. I'm rooting for you all the way to the finish.

I'm sorry to hear this!  We'll all keep our fingers crossed for you.  Until then, I'm a firm believer that most things in life can be helped by a cup of tea and a bubble bath.

RIGHT - well this might be a golden opportunity to say that there are a few of us, no names and no pack drill, who have been trying to anonymously organise a little fund to help Janet towards her goal. She has been a stalwart of this site and I know has helped many of you on your journey. I personally believe that she now deserves a bit of practical help herself, and I have been trying to do just that in a small way.

Unfortunately Janet has realised that, without going into any inappropriate details, there are a few other money issues that need to be sorted first... like for example getting herself a stable long-term income and so she has wisely (in my opinion) decided to put the SRS process on hold so she can use all the resources that that she had available to help her address these other important aspects.

HOWEVER

She has her two letters of referral. So all that is lacking is finance. I, and indeed several others, have already earmarked varying amounts of money both small and large against the day when she is once again in a position to proceed. At present no money need to be sent to anyone. It is just a notional promise that IF and WHEN she is in a position to proceed - we will each contribute direct to her surgeon according to our means to help make up any shortfall.

So... without in any way wanting to improperly approach anyone, or indeed embarrass Janet, may I just put this out there, and say that if anyone else would similarly like to, in principle, commit a small amount to this cause, please just PM me. It may be some time before anything actually happens, but if and when it does, having a few people who are each able to contribute a small amount, will soon add up to a big help for one of our deserving sisters who is finding things very tough just now, but who is now working hard to dig herself out of the mud.

I hope I am not breaking any rules in posting this. It is certainly not my intention to do so. If this post is judged in any way inappropriate by anyone then please either delete it, or let me know and I will do so myself.

I love it when people come together like that. Unfortunately I'm so broke I'm struggling unable to even do HRT if I try to stick to the "right" way (which is becoming an increasingly hard commitment to keep) so I would only be symbolically contributing if i did.

Much sympathy to you. I can only imagine the frustration and heartache you're feeling. I hope that things are straightened out soon for you and you can get finished, what needs to be.

Also, I believe you're up in the northwest U.S.; are you going to use Dr. Nyguen (sp)? I'd like to know how it goes if that's who is taking care of you. I have hopes that one day soon, I may get the job done as well and he's one of two that I am looking at for it.
