I'm a transguy (ftm), I'm seeing a therapist and I want to start taking testosterone within the next few months. Actually I want to start today, but my family is anti-trans so that's not possible since I'm living at home still. At the moment I'm unemployed, and trying to get a job. My dad is kicking me out basically the same day I get a job, the nice thing is he'll pay the first month's rent of whichever apartment I can afford, but after that I'm on my own. Right now I really have no idea what I should do to transition as quietly as I can... Should I mention that I'm trans during job interviews, to make sure the company is trans-friendly and won't fire me when I transition? Or should I keep it a secret, work there (I don't know where I'll be working, but it won't be a fancy job since I don't have qualifications or a degree) for a few months, and hope that they won't fire me when I do tell them I'm planning on transitioning? I really don't want to get fired, especially since I'll be on my own financially. Does anyone know of any trans-friendly companies? I looked online, but all I could find were these cryptic diversity policies that may or may not include trans people, it was impossible to tell either way. In general, what kinds of jobs are best for transitioning?
