sanseverything.files.wordpress.com = the website where the picture is stored
/2009/12/ = the directory where it is stored
homersimpson.jpg =  the actual picture

the easiest way to get the link is to copy the address from the picture.

Don't you need a certain post count as well as a proper registration to post images?

The post count rule is for having an avatar. If the OP is asking about showing an avatar you need at least to have made 15 posts. That opens up your full profile.
