Isolde

Hello Everyone,

My name is Lauren (Isolde is my middle name), but you can call me whatever you'd like.  I'm on a couple of other forums as well with the same screen name, some of you may already know me (sorry, you're stuck with me here too), and people from those other boards call me Izzie.  But I'll let you call me whatever you'd like. ^_^

Well, I suppose I should tell you a little bit about myself.  I'm 30 years old, I just started hrt about 6 months ago.  I've known for quite a while that I needed to transition and <insert long story here> (the details, I'm sure you've heard many many times, are really not all that exciting).  I'm a graduate student in physics, I'm a vegetarian, I'm Canadian, I've got a strange sense of humour for which I apologize in advance, and I'm sure there's a whole lot of other things I could say as well.

I never really know what to say in introduction posts, I don't really like to just pin down who I am in a couple of paragraphs.  Especially since I find that I'm being exposed to so many different situations and ideas recently that 'who I am' seems to be growing and expanding far too fast for me to keep up with.

If it matters to anyone, I'm not full time, I'm far from pleased with how I appear (can we say body image issues?), though while I stay dressed like a boy in almost all of my interactions with people, my family and most of my closest friends know about my transition and are to differing degrees, supportive. ^_^

Anyway, it's nice to meet you all!  And if there's anything you'd like to know about me, please ask. ^_^

-Lauren/Isolde/whatever you'd like call me.

Quotecan we say body image issues?
Yeap. Me too. :embarrassed:
I wish we could have an exchange system you can have mine and I can have yours.  :(
Oh well.

Welcome to Susan's, Lauren Isolde! (I love that name.)

I am sure that your sense of humor will fit in fine here, we are all a little wacky! Everyone here is also quite kind and supportive. I am glad to hear that your friends and family seem to be supportive of your transition, that is one of the best things they can do!

I look forward to hearing more from you, don't be shy!

Hugs,
Jacquelyn
"Love is in fact so unnatural a phenomenon that it can scarcely repeat itself, the soul being unable to become virgin again and not having energy enough to cast itself out again into the ocean of another."

Welcome to Susans!

I hope you are doing well and I hope you enjoy your time here.  It's a great place for both Transpeople and non-transpeople alike to just hang out and have a great time.  We all support one another and just enjoy talking to each other.  I hope you have fun here!
