Ounce a mtf person has their orchi done. What is the likelyhood, that they develope osteoperosis or any other condition if they just happen to run out of hormones? Does anybody have any idea how long that would take to happen? And what kind of other things could go wrong, if an emergency or natural disaster were to take place and one couldn't get any mones.

osteoporosis is something that generally occurs in post menopausal women and takes years to develop.  I don't think you have too much to worry about

Not sure where you are but once we are on AA or E/P we get a bone scan once a year to check for Oesteo. It's part of being on a proper program, they check our levels of everything every 3-6 months and monitor liver function, hormone levels, blood pics etc. And of course, how we are feeling and coping. If anything looks odd we are called in for an exam from anyone from a bone Dr to a hormone Dr to a Psych.

This is in South Australia

No idea what happens in other places.

Cindy.

In America, insurance doesn't pay for any of that, so you don't get it done.

I have had and Orchidectomy and I am on HRT.  And yes once you no longer have the hormone producing organs, you need some type of hormone to remain healthy.
