You could always got a hypnotist to make you believe you're a cat and then sleep. Or maybe you are a member of the evolved cat species from Red Dwarf and naturally lazy, but very stylish? lol!
and i know that i'm never alone
and i know that my heart is my home
Every missing piece of me
I can find in a melody

Helena.

I'm sorry for putting serious note here, but being continually tired like that can be in indicator of anemia.

I'm having my bloods tested on tuesday so if there is anything like that going on it should be flagged up.

Are you on hormones? I was perpetually tired for the first year; it still comes and goes though. I think it's the body changes that take it out of you.

Please don't forget, depression is another possibility.
It's not always mental, sometimes it's physical.

I've just been spending way too much time with the cat recently...her snoozing ways have rubbed off on me.

Low thyroid can also cause sleepiness.  I had issues with both that and anemia a few years back, and, as you said, I could rival my cat for sleeping all day.  Good luck getting it figured out

I've been really tired lately too. I feel like I could easily sleep 12-13 hours a night, if I actually had the time to do so, that is. I always went to bed fairly early to begin with, around 10-10:30. Lately, I can't seem to stay awake past 8-8:30. :-\ This is problematic for me because that means I've essentially lost about 14 hours of study time a week. In fact, some days I start to crash around 5-6pm and get so tired that I can't seem to focus enough to get any real studying done. I figured its just because my body is changing and so needs more sleep. I kind of don't want to spend money to see my doctor only to have him tell me that its normal and will eventually subside. Money is really tight right now. :-\

Vitamins, exercise, and diet immediately come to mind... unless there is another issue at play like an under-active thyroid etc. Getting enough and the right vitamins like B12 are really important, along with eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, protein, and avoiding things like caffeine & processed sugars. You might want to check your B12 levels and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone levels) during your next doc visit.

I gave the same problem, helena.  I know mine is partly from depression and anxiety, the desire to just sleep all the troubles away.  Sometimes just forcing yourself out of bed no matter how tired you are and walking or biking a bit will help.  Also, apparently (remembers from an old health class) eating a piece of bright colored fruit (apples and pears and stuff like that, don't as why) and a glass of water before anything else in the morning will jump start your metabolism, and maybe give you more energy.

I exercise about 5 days a week, eat an apple every day, take vitamins (not B12, though). I don't have an unhealthy diet. I went to sleep at 8:30pm last night and got up at 6:00am this morning and still feel exhausted. It always feels like my alarm jerks me out of a really deep REM sleep too. I have been super stressed out lately, though.
