Cramps at 7 months on T?

For the past few days, at night only, I feel like I have very mild cramps similar to menstrual cramps... They are not even half as severe as the actual menstrual cramps I experienced before T were, and only at night.  Ever since I've started T, I've had the occasional cramp but usually at the same time of the month, so I figured it was just my body becoming accustomed to not having a period... However, this has been going on for the past few days, only at night (which was not the case before), and also not as severe.  I don't know what's going on.  I am on a rather high dose of T, although I realize dosages can't be given here, and although I saw my doctor in January, my last blood test was in November.  He didn't tell me actual numbers for my T or other hormones like estrogen, just showed me numbers that would be low if the body felt it was getting enough testosterone ...?  And mine were really low.  But I still feel unsure about that.  I feel that perhaps, due to my high dose, I have too much T converting into E.  My doctor deals with pretty much all the trans people in our province (I'm in Canada), so I don't feel he doesn't know his stuff, just that perhaps I should have my dose lowered...  Is it possible that the cramps are due to this, or is it something else?  And has anyone else experienced this?  Thanks...

I've been on T for about 2 1/2 years, full dose, and this still happens to me. I get cramps, tenderness in the chest, etc... and I have no idea why. Unfortunately, I'm having a rough time financially and can't afford to have my levels tested, so I don't know whether it may be due to something like you suggested, or if my levels aren't sufficiently high, or some other unknown factor. Wish I could help... but perhaps someone else can shed some light on the topic for the both of us.

Mine only happen every so often and don't last long. They stopped happening the day after I posted this.  I'm sorry that you've been having financial issues recently and can't get your levels tested... Of course, when people have cramping and pain like this there are always concerns about something being wrong, but if it's not extremely severe I would probably think it's related to hormones... From what you've said about tenderness in your chest as well, I'd think your estrogen levels are too high.  As we know that can happen when testosterone aromatizes into estrogen, which happens when T levels are too high.  I think, maybe, on 2 1/2 years on T your body may be utilizing testosterone better and thus you might not need as much.  Hopefully, though, you get through your troubles and are able to get things figured out soon.  From what I've read it is usually related to hormone levels.  Seeing as mine are so intermittent I really do not know.  All the best to you, Sebastien.
