i'm noticing that the head of my penis seems to be getting a more fish like smell than before. could this happen from hrt? i've heard of a sweet smell, but that's not what i'm smelling down there.

Yes it can.  But washing will remove said smell.

I think that's the smell of success!!

But I recall reading a book, many years ago, where someone described how our bodies are designed for walking on four legs. By walking on two, we have a lot of things to deal with, including taking care of our backs.

But the nether regions are also demanding extra attention compared to out four footed cousins.

It's the change in your body chemistry, coupled with the different anatomy MtF don't have (yet).  Wash daily, keep it trimmed (waxed or shaved if you prefer) and don't forget to use a scented moisturizing lotion after bathing.

Yes I've noticed it too.

Washing and using Talc can help.

My mom said eating yogurt helps too? Not sure how true that is

You body chemistry does change quite a bit on Estrogen, but I have a feeling the real answer is a bit more simple... Most MTF's tend to tuck to some degree, so there's more of an opportunity for odors to build up compared to untucked.

I can say that this is something that has been recommended medically. I will try to find a reference.

Apparently, live unsweetened yougurt, but only live, can help to restore the flora in the body, especially the gut. This is recommended, especially, ater a short cours of antibiotics. I'm not exactly sure how the cultures get past the stomach, but it's apparently well documented.

As for external areas, I have heard of it being recommended for women who have mild yeast infections, applied directly. But have no feedback on how well it works.

Adition.

I can't find any authoritive sources, on an intial search, but there do seem to be a lot of health and alternative sites recommended it.

These seem reasonable.

I also forgot to say that youghurt used externally should be unsweetened plain. Putting sugar on a yeast infection is not quite the result we need really!!!

The smell of success is fish?

I never noticed a fish smell. I dunno, it MIGHT smell like fish, I never really gave it a wiff. I think this is the only situation where fishy smelling genitals are a good thing.

i've heard of a sweet smell,

Apologies, I was alluding to this. Just trying to put a bit of humour into the discussion. In reality, body chemistry is complicated and takes time to settle down. Especially when some of the principal components are altered.

Yeah babe! sweet smell of TUNA!!!!!!!!! It is what every teenager has on his mind, and yes, I know it isn't sweet at all but oceanly, discustingly beautiful! That is exactly what happened when I went on HRT, after a while the aroma was very strong and washing several times a day would not get it any better. But why would you want it any other way. Welcome to wonderful womanhood, it ain't as glamour as some thought, I guess this might be the secret Victoria kept hidden :-) What smells funny to us, estrogen saturated transfemales, smells like desire to testosterone infested bloke. Love ya, have a smelly day!

Tucking and sweating is what I believe to be the cause. I tuck 24/7, comfortably, but I get a lot of different smells, and I'm 95% it's from perspiring and moisture.

Where in the world does one get live, unsweetened yogurt? I think I'd rather try probiotics when the time comes. Same here Samantha.

yep FISH! lol. My ex-wife used to always have a VERY strong odor about her. Not sure if she had hygiene issues or what. It was always VERY strong

Ewwww! Take a nice shower/bath at least once everyday.
Two times a day is ideal but if possible, go for three times a day.
And like someone mentioned above, TALC is your friend.
Oh, and use a nice body spray. Cherry blossom is one of my favorites  :)

i get a little nauseous just thinking about something unsweetened.

That's funny. When talking of yogurt, I assumed she meant I needed to eat it more.

There is actually a yogurt that has the needed bacteria in it (Activa I think?). People have recommended it after antiobiotics.

As for probiotics, I think I'll have to look into those soon......

The shop usually, unless of course you live in america where I believe it's a federal offense to sell any product without sugar in.

I've noticed a smell, the exact odour of which depends on the time of the month.

Yogurt is worth making, just for the benefits. It's quite easy.

You can add almost any fruit to it.

But your starter does need to be live. One of the best sources is a health food shop.

I always hear this but honestly none of the women I have been with ever smelled like fish down there.

I've heard it said too, but do women's vajayjays really smell like fish?  That doesn't sound very pleasant to me, but then, I'm attracted to guys.
