You used to be a man and that would make me gay if we dated.

Here is how you combat that:

"That girl right there used to be a child.  I guess that would make you a pedophile."

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

And that girl was way more of a child than you were a man ::)
Oh I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love

A witty come-back might make you feel a little better, but you're still not going to get the date.

Only if the original logic holds true.

or if you want to be a bit ruder...

"Yeah the key phrase here should be USED TO BE, but unfortunately it turns out that you still are a brainless moron who doesn't understand the meaning of the past tense. You used to be attractive too.

That's the point. It makes their suggestion seem quit idiotic.

I would think the perfect comeback would be to say "yeah, and you used to be cool."

I'm glad you brought this up dear, I know you're a bit shy... So what time should I be ready?

I would probably just say something like:

"I didn't know you were gay!"
"The cake is a lie."

or... I've always been female. I just was not born biologically/anatomically female.  ;)

That usually makes them think things over for a few minutes.  ;D

Awsome. I will invent a situation just to use that line if I have to [Knowing me, watch it come out all wrong].

I think it's humorous but I dont believe its going to change anyone's mind.

The best case for me is, 'I've always been a woman. I had a birth condition that needed correcting.'

But if the statement is out there already then its too late. The person has already made up their mind.

True, a lot of straight men fear the gay and just shut you out before you can...explain your womanhood.
I'm thinking about just saying I was born male when outing myself because it's true I was born male but I'm a girl, and saying I used to be a guy is just a lie, and saying I'm trans or was born transsexual has too much bad baggage attached to it.
Actually now I'm wondering how many women born transsexual were always girls verses the ones who used to be guys? And the opposite for men born transsexual.
