Interesting. Around the 1900's, plus or minus a decade or two, the choice of colors for children were reversed, pink for boys and blue for girls. Shows you what a few wars can do for gender stereotypes. And many boys were raised as girls or neutral for a few years until about 6-8 years old when they were switched to boy clothes and activities. And in some cultures, even today, boys are allowed to be girls until puberty and they can decide who they want to be.
