Ok, so I need some input.  I have a whole boat load of grey suiting fabric, a nice light suiting with a bit of stretch to it.  It's been catching my eye the past day or so, and I was thinking perhaps I should make something pretty out of it.  My idea was a mid-calf length skirt, something to be worn over black leggings with some nice boots, but what do you think?  All in all I think i've got like, 8-9 yards of the stuff, so there is plenty to make.  I also have like 15 yards of black cotton, and about 5 yards of black stretch poplin.

Need Ideas badly!

Hehe, well then, you would have to commission me then wouldn't you?  XD  can't exactly advertise on here though, lol, this is for figuring out what skirt to make!  *determined face*  Dark colors are my friend, since i'm big and tall, lol, that's why I like the grey.  It was originally for a costume, Robin Sena from Witch Hunter Robin, but the person never paid me so it's my fabric now ^^

Hehe, it would be a challenge, but sadly I don't really like her choice in style much >.>  I'm more for the asian styles, lolita and aristocrat.

Hmm, a good idea, but at my age I don't think a suit of any sort fits my style.  Perhaps I should have stated that I'm a fairly artistic person, influenced heavily by Japanese and victorian fashions, as well as pseudo-costume/fashions such as steampunk.

what about a mix of business formal with a touch of frilly lolita?

Interesting idea. I don't  know if anyone has done it yet.  Aristocrat comes close, but that isn't frilly enough.  That being said, suiting isn;t just for suits, lol.

Just thinking, a nice grey needs colour to bring it out, so a few possibilities. If you can get cute coloured leggings, maybe light red, or maybe  light green, lime. Preferably with a pattern rather than solid. A short to knee length very full skirt could look good. Maybe, maybe not with a fullish petticoat? Don't want a fetish maid look,  but something to draw the eye to the hips.

A style I'm seeing coming out for this season is laced up booties, not keen at the moment ???, but a calf length pencil skirt could look awesome with cute booties.
I also think a tight pencil skirt with high heeled boots is a classic, and should be in every girls wardrobe next to the LBD.

I have a very full,  long skirt in grey with silver pattern, that looks awesome in high heels. When my wife saw me in it I had to make another ASAP in her size. She went to work in it got lots of compliments and was asked where she had got it from. 'Oh my husband made it for me  ' was her fantastic reply.

Unfortunately, I have to work off published patterns as I can't seem to get the knack of my own, but I can modify them. I love making clothes etc.

Lee. if you want the suit you will have to come around and be measured.  >:-). I video my measuring sessions to make sure they are correct. >:-) >:-) >:-)

Sorry Lee just joking

Lovely ideas, and i'm glad to see there is a fellow seamstress on here ^^  The boots I have right now are actually old pirate style boots, I was gonna cut em down a bit so they're not knee high, maybe keep the fold over, and lett them have a bit of slack; some slack is nice with the leather.  Didn't think about colored leggings, but red seems a good color with grey, im more of a dark colors person so lime would be too much.

Lol, on patterns, don't worry, I still work with pre-made patterns too, unless it's easy enough to make.  I do mod, and upsize/downsize however, which is absolutely SPECTACULAR for someone like me who is 6'5 and is trying to use women's patterns.  I used the skill for part of a costume a while back, which sadly is all I have in the way of women's clothes at the moment (hence the need for ideas!)  Swing coat modded to have cat paws and a hoodie, my avatar, in fact ^_~

*now wonders if she should get a picture of her in the costume as the avatar, or at least the mildly to extremely creepy face shot with the mask on for shiggles.*

 Hi Key,

OK didn't know your height and of course your weight and proportions are very important. You don't go out to shop? Why? Lots of tall beautiful women out there. Never seen a short basketball or netball player, and they can look as feminine as any other woman, so don't put yourself down. It's easy for us to do but it leads to a lack of confidence. At that is what gives us away. OK I'm about 5'8" but wear heels always, so I always present at about 6'. I'm skinny, I get looked at all the time, 'Oh look at this one' was a comment on Weds at a restaurant, as I walked to the table with my sister in law. I walked to their table and asked what they wanted to look at. They c******d themselves. They were also tourists, from OS so I took particular delight in educating them in polite words of saying I'm a woman out with a friend for dinner, and I hope next time you go out for dinner you get insulted as the old crab that you look like.

Had a nice meal.

I was wearing a long skirt I had bought at Sears & Roebook (?)  about 15 years ago. I'm an Australian and it was my first trip to the USA with my wife,, it is brown very light flowery, long skirt with a matching T top in  a sort of suede material, short sleeved and all of the ensemble is light. Weds was  hot here, about 36C so heavy clothing wasn't an option. I had three woman come over and ask where I had bought the outfit. And they were interested in the outfit and not me.

As a 6'5" female you will meet challenges that some other women will not. But you need to make that decision. You are just as much a woman as any other woman on this planet.
You have nothing to answer for.  You have nothing to explain.

Know, what are your legs like? A good feature, most people love legs that go for ever.

What is the weight like?

So what are you doing about it? >:-)

What is your hair like? Tall woman can get away with long long hair.

What is your facial  and body hair like? light, heavy, colour? Blondish or darkish ?

What do YOU want to do? Is what YOU want to do limited by body image or something else, nothing wrong with either.

Do you wish to live as a full time female human being?

If you do, what will you give up and what will you gain for that?

Sorry if I went ahead a bit, I think I read a little in the post.

Love and Hugs.

I'm here for you to talk to.

Lol, no, that's fine ^^  I am a bit overweight, working on losing that via cardio, cuz i don't wanna gain much muscle before i go on HRT.  My lower legs however, are all muscle, no fat at all.  Being a bit heavy works well for that, and i have a larger frame.  I figure i'll play up the look of northern european women, the sort of strong beauty.

My hair is dark, but more at a middle point.  It's thick too, and has a natural wave.  When I'd go to the salon back before I found out about myself, i'd have women commenting to me about it.  I'm still relatively clueless about hair care and makeup, but I think it might be because I don't get split ends or much frizz.  If I comb it down and it's not TOO humid, it stays.  Right now I'm busy growing it back.  It was close to shoulder length in december, but as I was supposed to get a job in a public store, i had to cut it.  It's something i'd get kicked out of the house for, yeah I know, ridiculous.  Now that I run my own costume business, no more restrictions.  Facial hair isn't terrible, it's a bit lighter than my normal hair color, and on the upper lip it's barely noticeable unless it grows out long.  Only issue is i got the neck-beard gene, which i'm itching to get rid of first when i get to that part of the path.  A razor only works so well.

Now if you wanna ask if I want to live full time, well yes, I do.  It's not something said lightly though, or without a lot of thought.  I get mixed signals from my parents over it, and being a tall, big person, it will be harder to pass than others, but to get rid of the gut-wrenching depression and pain from it all, I'd do it again and again.  The only thing I'd lose is a male body.  Who I am now, save for mannerisms and speech pattern, and the way I dress, is me.  I just have to hide some of it because of my family, and because to show it would bring them trouble, what being active in the church.  I respect them, love them, and the love me too, so for now I'll keep incognito, despite how much i hate doing it.

Hmm, now as for fashion.  OOooooh, i could talk all night about what styles i fancy ^^  Luckily I can at least snap off this bit before insomnia stops working ^^

I have to be realistic, light colors don't work well on me.  First thing you learn in art class is that brights make things seem bigger, and darks make them seem smaller.  I tried wearing white once, it was terrible.  Luckily, I like a lot of the punk, gothic, and deviations there of in america.  I also love the lolita, aristocrat, cyber, and a bit of the urahara styles from japan.  Those, luckily, are a bit more forgiving than american styles.  Lolita and aristocrat in particular are based loosely off victorian styles, so they fit a person of european decent such as myself just as well as anyone else.  Lucky that I want to relocate to Japan one day, so styles like that won't be out of place  ;D

Umm, I think my train derailed, lol, because I cant think of what else I was gonna say.

Sounds as if your family is sort of supportive  Mine threw me out, slowly but yea. I was 13.

Dark hair goes awesome with lasers. First sessions when the stubble is thick hurts, hurts like hell. But the results are awesome

I now shave once a week? Love to talk fashion.

I'm into very modern and I have to be careful.

As I said I'm 5'8'' I weigh 65 kilos and I'm 38, 32, 36, most of which is artificial BTW at least the 38 is unless I get implants and I plan for them. I love wearing new stuff, I'm a little conservative, I like to look like a woman, and not a party doll or a freak.  I think I wear trackies and thongs most of the time but I do like to "dress up" and look and feel beautiful. But I like to spend time time doing it.  I hate the, "we are going out in 30 mins make yourself beautiful."  S**t I want that long in the bath thinking what to wear, who will be there what she wore last time. Have a  phone chat, you going casual or glam. I don't want to clash, blah blah, Men have no idea. Is it meat? Is there beer?  Don't you think she has great tits? (about my girlfriend  :o :o :o :o :o

Pig.

Sorry I seem to be having a rant about an afternoon BBQ.

Hugs

Loving, but supportive only to a point.

Lol, I guess I'm different in the respect to needing a bit of time to get ready, i've always been able to throw something on randomly and make it look good.  I don't know if that will change in the future, but, eh.  I'm a geek, what can I say?  Either side of the binary, we're pretty much alike depending on what category we fall in.  For me in that category, I like to get dressed up real nice on certain occasions, but in other instances, something simple will do; simple means I have more time to think about what i'm doing art or project wise.  Lol, I am who I am, and not all of me needs fixing XD  I'm perfectly content to enjoy my fangirling around at conventions and such, I'll just be able to do it content in myself fully and feeling whole in the future, lol.

hehe, that's actually on my list of things to do, Helena.  I've been juggling around with what color i should use for it though, I know I have the grey, but i also have a lot of browns, black, and some olive.  I'm also working on an Inquisitor design, from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which is sortof steampunkish in its own right since most technology and fashion for that series looks archaic in reference to servants of the God-Emperor.

I just geeked out again, didn't I?  :icon_redface: :icon_redface: :icon_redface:

Hehe, at least I'm not speaking an entirely undecipherable language XD  If I do steampunk, I need a set of clockwork wings.  I remember seeing this gorgeous set worn by a girl in a red velvet dress back at a convention in 08', and i always wanted a set of my own.
