I could theoretically say early bird because of how late I stay up, I guess, but that would be cheating. :P

Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

My work gets me up before the crack of dawn, when no sensible person would be doing anything but snoring.  Left alone, I'll sleep till 7 or 8.

Michelle.

Night owl here as well. Can't deny it, just check out the time of most of my posts.

The nature of running a business, tending to clients and being a night owl leaves me in the predicament of getting only a few hours of sleep a night. I am usually up till at least 1-2am, and typically wake up between 5-6am. Really sucks. When I dont have to be onsite at clients, my natural rhythm is to sleep from 3-10am. Weekends I may not crawl into bed until sunrise, and will sleep till the crack of noon!  :icon_evil_laugh:

I'm naturally a night owl, but unwillingly on a schedule that requires an early bird.

I like to stay up late and get up latter, but my 2 year old does not agree.

I try to get to bed at 9.30pm these days. I get up at 6am for work.

I'm definitely a night owl. So is the rest of my family.

My ex-wife was an early bird, up at 5 in bed before 10. I would wake up at the crack of 10, and be up until 2-3am. She used to fret about it, but it never bothered me. Back then (early 90s) they would run late night marathon ST:TNG episodes, so from my perspective a perfect evening was dinner, sex and startrek.  :D

I go to bed early (about 10 pm) and wake up late (about 9 or 10 am). >> Gotta love being a college student. xD

I only sleep when the day star comes up to poke its nuclear head (6 in the am).
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.

Total night owl. I'm just glad my boss understands this usually.

My sleep cycle must be centered around something other than earth, with a day longer than earth's by an average of 30 minutes.....

You see, my clock keeps shifting, I can force it but then accumulate sleep deprivation and be tired all the time (until ~60 days later when my clock completes a forward 24h circle around itself and I can have decent sleep during a few consecutive days) or just go with it and be totally unable to maintain any single specific schedule for more than 2 or 3 weeks.  :-\

Thank goodness for that 'Other' choice right?

I'm both or neither, I think. My sleep patterns have been all over the place ever since I was a teenager. Sometimes I'm still awake at 6am, sometimes I'm waking up at that time. I tend to naturally gravitate towards being a night owl, but I think that's because I often get distracted by things and end up going to bed way too late. But perhaps I'm an early bird at heart, because I feel most happiest/healthiest when I'm waking up around 5am and going to sleep around 10pm. My favourite time of the day is between 3am-5am because it's so peaceful. I found the term 'matutinal' which means "an organism that is only or primarily active in the pre-dawn hours or early morning". Sounds good. :P

Night owl, for sure. On an average night I fall asleep between 2:30 AM and 4:00 AM and do not wake up until between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Granted, upon waking up I am immediately hyperactive and cheerful.

When nothing's interrupted, I fall back to the same sleeping pattern as vampires lol  Wake up when the sun goes down, and go to bed when the sun comes up. I had a trouble staying awake during the day in class.
