The land lord had sent the painters and decorators in the other day to paint the front of the house, and quite probably because my room is at the front of the house they came into my room to get a look at things (the alternative is just too terrifying to think about...excuse me while I check that all my knickers and bras are still there). The weird thing was as soon as I got back from work I knew that someone male had been in my room, because I could smell them...and it wasn't nice.

Do men actually smell nice rather than just funny?

They do when they wash regularly.

This +1.

Hot, nasty, sweaty, funky smelling guys are never a pleasant aroma.  :eusa_naughty:

When properly washed and with a good cologne, yes they do.  ;)

Depends on what your taste in pheromones is. Some men smell great! Some women smell terrible! And vice versa. To me, anyway. To your nose, it'd be a different set :). Illustrative anecdote:

Back in '94 when I started working at a retreat centre near Norwich, I and a shirtless man passed each other walking through a doorway one afternoon (it was August). He's not someone I find remotely attractive, but when I smelled him as he went past, I just wanted like crazy to jump on him.

Cut to 16 years later, I'm staying in London, I'm heading down the stairs into Tottenham Court Road tube station on another hot summer's day, and for no reason, that guy popped into my head. 10 seconds later, he walked round the corner - we smiled, said hello, and carried on our separate ways. I hadn't seen him for 16 years, but I'd recognised his scent. That's how it works sometimes. I still didn't find him attractive physically, but he still smelled damn good (which, as I get older, gives me hope...)

If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

I have noticed when my neighbor's son is around.  Kinda like an early warning system.

Wow Yoxi!  16 years later and you saw him again.  :o

There isn't too many guys I can get into, but there was this one guy that worked in our park.  I used to see him outside.  And even 15 feet away I could smell him.  Even working he smelt good.

Roxy & I were at Walmart yesterday, and walking past two guys in an isle. I held my breath and found myself groaning inside, the smell was so bad. I looked over at Roxy when we got passed. She had the same expression on her face as mine. I laughed.

"What are you laughing about?" she asked.

"I just noticed your expression and we are both thinking the same thing."

She laughed too.

What a coincidence to read this post :).

Depends on the guy. Some smell delicious. Others smell terrible.

(If you're not into men, though, I imagine we all smell pretty bad...not to offend anyone, but women tend to smell kind of funny to me).

I've been noticing this lately as well.  But, even before HRT, certain 'man smells' offended me anyway. It depends on the male, their hygiene, genetic background and/or what they ate.  On HRT, you'll smell different than you did before anyway.  Your olfactory senses will adjust for this automatically and you will have different perspective on certain odors, and odors will affect your sense of taste.
