I am all twisted up and nervous as all get out!!!!

Tonight, I am doing a presentation at the trans group on how to legally change your name, birth certificate, driver's license, passport & do a fee waiver.  I hate hate hate my voice - I sound like a girl and I am going to be up in front of a bunch of folks talking for at least an hour -- I can make it deeper but I really have to concentrate at it and I am a new attorney so I have to concentrate on what I am saying as well.

Then tomorrow I go to my first counseling appointment.  Except for the failed therapy apt last month - I have never been to a counselor before in my life. I am a very closed person and having to talk about something I have kept quiet for years makes me nervous.

So.... I just had to let this out!  Sorry to be a whinner

I misread your thread title and was reminded of a teeshirt a friend of mine has:

Balls of Steel
Heart of Gold
Knob of Butter

:)

If you've got the right counsellor, it'll be a relief to talk - and it's alright to take your time trusting them. Good luck tonight.

Rob.

When you speak in front of a crowd, you stand up and say what you have to. Don't make eye contact with anyone. If you find yourself doing this, scan your eyes across the audience.

If you start by being self conscious about anything , you're gonna muff  it.

So, go in and say your piece. They are there to listen to what you say, not to judge you. If they do judge you then they won't learn anything and they are wasting their time and yours. best ignored.
