Recently I had a complete set of labs done.  Both to check my overall health and to check my testosterone levels.  My changes have really been slowing down and my strength is decreasing while my acne is getting worse.  My acne was the worst when I first started taking hormones and then got better.  So it was a sign my levels are off.

I had them drawn at my local doctor as the doctor who prescribes my hormones, Dr. Ettner, is over an hour and a half away.  I've been waiting for a call from Dr. Ettner for a few days now.  I gave up and called the office.  I have to explain that in order to talk to the doctor I have to go through the receptionist who is on a perpetual power trip.  She's very difficult to deal with.  She says she gives note to the doctor but he doesn't call me back.  He's really a nice guy.  I don't even know if he is getting the notes.

So I called the doctor office that did my blood work.  They said that they had indeed faxed my results to the other doctor.  They then said that my overall health is fine.  However my testosterone level is scrapping the low bottom of average and my estrogen level is at the very top of average.  Which is not good news at all but is what I expected.

Last time I was in the office the doctor mentioned that I could go down to a shot every 10 days as opposed to every two weeks if my testosterone was low.  However I know that excess testosterone could be converted into estrogen.  So I don't know what to do now.

I'm really upset that I can't get hold of the doctor.

Sounds like your T is aromatizing into E.
damn

You need to get on them and make an apointment with the doctor.

If getting an apointment is going to be an issue for awhile, you still have this issue.
Cut back on the next shot is my first instinct but I aint a doctor....

Thanks Cynthia.  I did manage to get an appointment for tomorrow.  Bah this so annoying.

With a rise in E comes a rise in emotional outbreaks and that's the worst thing of all.

I know from the other side very well. I have had 3 surgeries in the last year and 2 of them I had to stop the E....

Is there a way to stop E all the way, a pill or something?

Hystro my man hystro would be the only way.

Sorry Paul your having to deal with it ... I have some friends who after a couple of years on T the doctor lets them set their dosage on how they feel - like you said you knew your levels were off

The doctor that Sevan and I see for HRT has taken the stance that we will be able to tell what our doses for HRT should be bassed on how we feel. (with medical supervision of course)

So far so good. Both of us can tell when our hormones are off just by how we feel. Not once have the blood tests shown we were wrong.

Hmm, if the problem were aromatization, wouldn't BOTH your T and E be high, not just the E? It sounds to me more like your T is just plain low, but obviously, get your doctor's opinion about it.

That was my first thought but my only knowledge with any of that is from what I've heard/read. Good luck Paul I hope the visit to the doctor can solve it for you.
