An event with Kate Bornstein is not one for sensitive ears. She opened her talk on gender issues by describing herself as a "transsexual, sadomasochistic d**e." She continued by offering a disclaimer, warning the audience that she was going to say the word f--- a lot. Bornstein described her talk as being based on "dangerous dreams and damned desires."

Bornstein hosted a talk on March 1 in the Roost, and a then ran a workshop on March 2. She really went out of her way to connect with her audience, drawing each member into her talk.
