I sometimes feel both genders, and neither at the same time.

Yes, because being both genders automatically makes you neither, it makes you a hybrid.  (However, it doesn't go the other way.  If you feel like neither gender you aren't automatically both.)

Sounds like an androgyne or intergender. maybe neutrois? the forest dwellers will be more up on the right terminology.

Hi Alex! :icon_biggrin:

Indeed, If you feel like both and neither at the same time, that is Androgyne - providing you feel that way ALL the time. The gender of an Androgyne is consistent, stable, solid, balanced. This is the way I have felt every day of my life.

If you feel male/masculine at times and feel female/feminine at others times, that's Bigender.
Bigenders periodically switch genders, moving back and forth from male-mode to female-mode.

Don't confuse a slow transition to the other side of the gender divide with being an Androgyne. If your gender is morphing, moving, or sliding toward the other binary gender, that's gender transition. Many, many Transgender people experience an evolving change of gender. Garden variety Transgender people are trans-masculine and trans-feminine. Transsexuals are more than simply trans-masculine and trans-feminine, Transsexuals are trans-male and trans-female.

Neutrois are agender, devoid of gender, empty, null-gendered.

If you feel feminine or female at times, masculine or male at times, and neutral or null at times, that's Tri-gender. Three very different gender states, obviously.

I hope this helps!

Androgyne.
I am not Trans-masculine, I am not Trans-feminine.
I am not Bigender, Neutrois or Genderqueer.
I am neither Cisgender nor Transgender.
I am of the 'gender' which existed before the creation of the binary genders.

So where do I fit? I don't feel masculine or feminine. I like how I look both ways. I'm happy with my body both ways. I have a penis (not much use for it, being married many years) and breasts (not much use for them, kids are grown, thinking along those lines makes me think the idea is stupid). I'm not sexually motivated for these things. I love my wife, and have never felt any kind of physical attraction toward another male. I have very strong emotional feelings for my friends and family of both genders, again not sexual feelings.

For some strange reason, I also don't feel any need to try to label myself or put myself in someone else's category. But I am curious what you would call that.

Yes.  :)

Yes, I think so, at least IMO. I feel the same way only it's a slight shift one way or the other, but most of the time its a dead heat.

Now I look back, this actually explains my twenties perfectly, because i did actually think I was an androgyne back lst year before I started transition...I also guess that it means that in a very real and significant way I did transition in my early twenties, except it was MtA and I didn't even realise I was doing it at the time. No wonder I spent all those years never really feeling like either gender.

Wow, that's actually quite an insite...thank you so much for posting this  :)

I just wander aimlessly around in the forest, stopping here and there, but never staying anywhere for very long. There's to much to see. Although I tend to wander back to the Androgyne campsite quite often.  :) Just happy to be here.
