I've only been on T for about almost 4 weeks, Tuesday will be 4 weeks, but I was wondering how long before male features come in?  I've seen no changes at all. My voice hasn't dropped yet and my face hasn't changed, whether the face change is good or bad thing, I don't know yet.

It's different for everyone. Have you had your levels checked?

Not yet.  I'm supposed to get that in another 2 weeks.

Depends, but most guys I see the most noticeable changes in 12-15 weeks, 6 months the voice is almost always male range.

Like Sharky said, it's different for everyone.  And when it does happen, it'll be gradual.  It's not like you're just going to wake up with a deep voice and different-looking face.  I'm almost 5 months on T, and my voice started to drop about 1-2 months in, but it's still not low enough that it sounds unambiguously male.  And my face looks kind of different than it did 5 months ago, but I'm not sure when that started to happen, because it was so gradual.  As far as the T's impact on my ability to pass, I can't really answer that, because I was read as male most of the time for about 2 years before starting T.  In all honesty, the biggest change I've noticed being on T these last few months is the amount of hair I've grown, all over my body and the beginnings of some on my face.

15 people started to be read as male regularly within the first 3 months. 12 people started to be read as male regularly between 3-6 months. 4 people were read as male regularly between 6-9 months and 2 people were read as male regularly between 9 months and a year. 63 people were read as male regularly before testosterone.

I think my 4 month mark is on Wednesday and I am read as female 99.99% of the time (I was clearly read as male once since starting T).

As everyone else has said, it's different for everyone. 4 weeks isn't that long, you've got plenty of time for changes to come in. It could also be possible that you have indeed experienced some small changes but you haven't noticed, because you see/hear yourself every day. Try taking recordings of your voice and pictures of yourself to track any changes.

Hey man Redshirt is right. Do the videos/pictures if you can. You don't have to let anyone see them but look at them yourself. I was annoyed the other day because I felt my voice had not really changed and I felt like there really hadn't been much change. I looked at my pre-T vid vs. the 1 I made that day and there had been major improvement.

It just takes time man. Just focus on being happy you've started T and try not to focus too much on changes which I know is tough but that's my best advice. Congrats on being a month on T btw

I think that a lot of really young guys (well, under 30, anyway) are often read as teenage boys anyway. So consistent "passing" might happen faster for them if it hasn't already.

I had nooo changes in my first month. I thought I was getting the wrong dose or maybe not much would change at all. But I started passing well after that. At about 2 months my ID was practically useless, I got denied in so many LCBOs and bars before I got my new ID (it took forever to get). Everyone seemed to think I was pulling some weird prank or this one lady thought I was trying to use my sisters ID and almost seemed offended thinking I was trying to get away with an "obvious fake" ID. I guess it didn't help that I sounded more like a guy and looked 16.

I'm not sure. I'm still nervous about some of the effects. I'll always have that. Maybe it'll go away in time, I dunno.  But,  I was just at a strip club Friday night with my friend and I just hate that I'm not sure I can pass when I go to this strip club b/c when I'm there, I want to be male more than ever and it kills me that I'm not passing yet. At the club I don't think the ladies could tell I was female or not, it's kinda dark in there and I wear a hat and my packer so when I get a lap dance, they can feel the packer there,  but the problem with the lap dances is that they are trying to get you excited and I can't get it up down there, and that really bothers me. I hate the fact that I don't have a real dick and that upsets me so much and I start having major dysphoria with the downstairs part of my body. But I love going to the strip club and getting the lap dances, but b/c I don't have a real dick, I'm constantly nervous about it when the ladies are on top of me. I feel less of a man and I just hate that.

That's what I'm thinking... I'm getting the wrong dosage. That's good you were passing at 2 months.  So on your license, I'm assuming you had to have your name change with your new pic? I don't plan on getting my name changed until after I have my top surgery. Top surgery is most important to me. Name change I can do later.

I'm 29, but I look really young, so I know I'm gunna be read at a teen. I guess I'm okay with that for now. Unless there's like a girl I like my age and she see's me as a teen and doesn't want to date me b/c I look to young, then I might have a problem.

My cousins and friends said that they hear no difference in my voice and I look the same.  I've taken pics, but I don't see any change at all. I'm still worried about my mom and grandmother finding out I'm on T. It just won't be good.

The hair is not what I want. But I guess there's nothing I can do about that. I'm in between with wanting the whole facial hair. Sometimes I want it, sometimes I don't.

I'm glad that you're feeling a bit better about it. I dunno much about strip clubs, not my scene, but maybe you could hard pack? But subtly so, like with a smaller packer.

hey there. I have been on T for 9 months now, and like some of the other guys have said it is different for everyone. I was often viewed as male pre-transition, i have always had a more masculine build, short hair and a fairly deep voice. Your heritage/genetics have a lot of say in what changes take how long, as well as the type of T you are on and the dosage. And if you still have all your inner parts it seems to take longer. I had a complete hysto 4 years ago so that was in my advantage, i really didn't notice my changes at first even tho friends/family told me my voice dropped within the first 2 weeks. It wasn't till I reviewed my original voice recordings and vids that I believed them lol. I noticed a lot of hair growth before anything else, although much more body hair than facial hair (however most men in my family dont grow really thick facial hair). I definitely suggest working out because your body has a faster metabolism now and you will build muscle like crazy lol. I lost 50lbs in 3mos without doing anything, even tho i was eating 3x as much as before. and my muscle tone just started on it's own, now i'm finally working out and seeing great results with minimal effort. Thanks Thatman. I'm not sure what type of T I'm on or what my dosage is. I'm trying to work out. But it won't be too long until my treadmill breaks and that's gunna get my frustrated when that breaks down.

That's awesome your building muscle like that. I haven't really noticed anything. I can't wait to build some muscle. I haven't really noticed body hair which is good, cause I don't want it. I'd be really happy without it.

I dieted and did some exercise but managed to gain 15-20 lbs (and I can say that it wasn't muscle). DAMN GENETICS!

I've struggled my whole life with my weight always going up and down. Generally stayed around 150-175 until i had a complete hysto 4 years ago, i balooned up to about 260 in 4 months. When I started T in June I weighed 265 and like I said I've dropped down to 215 with no effort. But most of the guys in my family (dad, brothers etc) all have a pretty high metabolism and build muscle really easy. I've started doing weight training and have seen results in the two weeks since I started. I'm no where close to where I want to be yet, but I'm also having to fight my fiance a long the way lol. She wants me to be bigger like I am now, not all "muscle bound" as she says lol. Plus when I spoke to Dr. Garramones office they suggested that building muscle and being in shape can give you better results when you have surgery. So I figure since I don't have the money right now anyway I can spend this time getting into shape. Plus exercise is always easier to keep doing if you can see results (which is why i never exercised before, cuz I couldn't see anything happening!). Plus as you all know T tends to raise your blood pressure and put you at a higher risk for a heart attack and heart disease, and I want to stick around to enjoy this life that I'm finally beginning to live.
