Today has been quiet like a long, reflective moment after a really moving sermon. All the other pews have emptied and you are there letting the Word heal you and lift you... for the most part...
It seems that she is scheduled to get her bandages changed about every 6 hours. I was there when her bandages were changed at noon and I was able to see Dr. Bower's work one day removed. Things were bruised ad a little blood oozed from the wounds but I was amazed! at, first, how little trauma was there and then how good the work looked! And it looked so natural, so right for her! And I told her what my impressions were. I told her that I could feel a subtle positive change in my thoughts and feelings about having the surgery for myself. I cannot quite put a name to it but the change is there.
So about 2 I left to do some errands. Jerica needs a "doughnut" to sit on, probably, tomorrow, her hand mirror from the hotel and a venti peppermint cocoa from Starbucks. I needed to get some new hearing aid batteries [if she is ever short of patience with me it's when my hearing aids aren't working]. When I got back at about 4, She told me that they'd had to change the bandages again because she'd been really bleeding bad. But she was alright then.
Fifteen minutes ago they called Dr. Bowers up to the room because she was bleeding a lot again. Not as much as earlier, but she'd soaked through her bandages. Dr. Bowers politely ordered me out of the room. Marci is doing some re-stitching again to make sure there isn't so much bleeding. She left a few minutes ago after telling me there shouldn't be so much bleeding. I asked her if the time-table for Jerica's healing would be set back because of this and Dr. Bowers said, "No."
As I should have mentioned in this morning, we still need your good and kind thoughts, peaceful meditations and prayers.
