i can not believe this. my headaches and accompanying symptoms got so bad last night I actually went to a hospital. I have a Glioblastoma. UN friggen believable........... had nothing to do with being smashed in the head last year. I guess it has been growing for a while. Looks like its time to die....un friggen believable. i am only 37 and i thought that i had years ahead of me. They say they can treat it with Chemotherapy along with surgery, but that the outcome is not predic table. There is no wasy in hell im going to die in a hospital. So its on now.......screw it. I am going to life my life to the fullest, im going to do all the crazy stuff I have always wanted to do but didnt want to pay the consequesces for......and that starts now, im going to paw-tay my bootie off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hells yeah

I am sorry to hear this Kitty.  But Don't give up.  Try all you can to beat it.

I have a friend who just finished a round of treatments for throat cancer, and is now cancer free.

Do what you have to Sis.

Oh my god.  My heart goes out to you sister.  Maybe they can't predict the outcome of treatment, but the sooner you start the better your chances... Please please don't give up.  You can get chemo and still live life to the fullest.

I am so sorry to hear your news. That is an awful thing to have to face.

I know the medical statistics of survival make for depressing reading, but just to give you hope, our next door neighbour had surgery for a similar condition a while back.

Five years on, despite what the statistics say, he is still alive - so as everyone has said - please don't give up. If you get treated you MAY survive. If you don't the average survival time is less than 3 months from the date of diagnosis (today).

Bottom line - it is your life to live as you choose, but if it was me, I think I might roll those dice one last time.

What ever you do - please make it count.

Stay in the fight and please don't give up.

Get the treatments that you need, that along with a positive attitude can go a long way.

As positive as you can be under the circumstances anyway.

A cousin of mine was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, they didn't give him much of a chance.. but he beat it... largely because he was willing to fight and not give up.

You can to, but you have to willing to fight and not give in. My heart goes out to you and I wish I knew the right words to say, just know that you aren't alone and that we are all here for you.

Don't give up ... Numerous studies have shown hope and faith that you will get better does impact you!!!!

There must be something in the water -- seriously --- my daughters roomate got diagnosed with a brain tumor over x-mas and is sitting out this semester to have chemo & surgery.   Then, a gal that I went to school with is going in to have surgery after 3 months of chem for a brain tumor.  Kinda creepy how this issue keep popping up in my life

Kitty.

I can say this from having been a registered nurse.

When they talk about success rates, they are always a bit pessimistic. Not to put you off, but because of the way they are compiled.

The Drs who do these treatments hate failure. It affects their reputations not to mention their egos. (Apologies for the cynicism).

Now, go back there and accept whatever treatment they offer. Remember, they will offer what is appropriate. Do what they say. Trust them.

Have they offered to get you into some counseling?   How do I say this .....Please  Be careful..

How very terrible, I have had to watch someone go down after giving up the fight, and I can't say it will be anything near the experience that you expect it will be. If you choose to live it up and flame out, more power to you, but getting help while you try to enjoy what remains is the better way to go.

In any case, [[here's another internet hug]]

When you are facing something like this, you have to KNOW you won't lose. You aren't just a number or random statistic. .. at least, you aren't if you have the ability to believe in yourself.

The mind is EXTREMELY powerful in affecting our health and life. There are many many studies which show the very real effect the mind has. Did you know elderly die of old age more often AFTER an important event that they are looking forward to? Their wanting to see a wedding of their grandchild, or celebrate a birthday, or whatever other event is able to keep them alive. Or, the link between older couples where one dies soon after the other is killed (having given up living because of the loss of their partner).

If you know you will beat it, you give yourself a MUCH better chance of doing it. This is true in every aspect of life. ..from those who reach the gold in Olympics to those who learn to walk when statistically it is "impossible". Everyone who has overcome hardship are those who have not given up.

Do you want to live? Do you have things you still want to do? Then don't give up. Go at it like no one has before. Watch what you eat, exercise, get lots of sleep, have the doctors do the things they think will help .. doing these things is unusual, doing these things makes you outside of the norm, doing these things makes you part of that group that gets past it and lives a long life.

If you roll over and just give up on life, you will die. Giving up is just feeding your condition and letting your body fail. ..instead of using the power of the mind to help you, you are using it to guarantee your failure.

So, don't give up.. .you have already been through a lot in life, this is just one more bump in the road you will overcome.

So sorry to hear that. :(

Don't give up. If you don't fight it at all, then that hospital death you dread may come about just the same, but with more pain and less hope.

The reason there are treatment statistics is because people do survive it.

Stay strong!

this is true.  in atlanta there was a boxer who had a hole in his heart at one point, and the doctors told him he could never box again.  he was a devout christian and believed god would heal him, and the hole in his heart closed up without medical intervention.  he continued to box.  so don't give up! the mind is very powerful, and you are not just another statistic. you CAN survive.

Rabbit put it very eloquently.  Don't give up, you can beat this!

If you take the treatment the doctors offer you have a much better chance of making it than if you don't.  I urge you to do so.  A long fulfilling life could be what awaits you on the other side, but you'll never know if you don't try.

Well, ive been thinking about it all day. And though because I am an impulsive person and almost got crazy. I didnt, and havent. I am feeling ok right now. You know, you guys make it real difficult to be careless and self destructive. I will go back to the hospital and listen to what they have to say.  ZThough i will tell you that i am soooooooooooo scared! I DONT THINK I HAVE EVER BEEN THIS SCARED IN MY Entire life. I wish more than anything i had someone that loved me to hold me and soothe me...... but i will get through this,,,,,,i hope
