I've become pretty confused about baldness recently because of how it's inherited, so I was hoping somebody good with genetics could help me out.
On my dad's side, he has a full head of hair. His dad had a lot of his hair up until around 60 years old, then it started thinning. His mom has a full head of hair.
On my mom's side, she has a full head of very, very thick hair, much like I do now. Her mom used to have thick hair from what I understand, but she underwent chemo for breast cancer, so it's not thick right now. Her dad, though, has been mostly bald from the age of ~15. So has her brother (my uncle).
I have massively thick hair. I'm worried that I might go bald when I start T, though, because I heard that children get it from their mother. Is baldness recessive, and is it an x-linked trait? What are the chances of me going bald like my grandpa and uncle?
