Well, today I had to see a Doctor for a non trans related issue... (An infection on my jaw)
I was very nervous about having to show my still male ID and being obviously rather feminine
(I'd had Doctors get kinda weirded on me in the past)

Usually the only females I'd see are the receptionist and a nurse to take my vitals... It would be all male Doctors and such from there

This time it was different... No-one acted weird, I was handled mainly by all females like they do with the women and the Doctor only made a brief visit to assess the Nurse Practitioner's findings and give a little advice

So now I have a bandaid, a bit of a sore jaw from the procedure, a bottle of antibiotics and the satisfaction of being treated nicely and like any other woman  :)

I'm scared to death of the doctors office, for me the only good feeling is driving away! Glad you had a positive day, hon! Hugs, Tracey

I always love it when they just see the woman in front of them.  But then again all my IDs say "F".

Yes, I'm scared to death of going to the Doctor's office also... I'll only go in if it's truly necessary
It felt really good to have a positive experience without anyone being weird towards me for a change

That's what I need to get with it and get going on... Getting my name change done... I was getting it all ready to do awhile ago but then I got discouraged  :-\

Well, last Monday a friend came to give me a ride to get some groceries... He already knew about me going to the doctor's on Thursday and asked me how it was going

I showed it to him and told him I was still rather nervous about it. After driving awhile he suggested I go back to the med. center and get a second opinion... The doctor said the nurse did okay but there was more that needed to be done and right now

So then he lance it and packed it with gauze and I had a huge bandage on my face  :P  I went back Wed.s and he repacked the gauze

Today it looked allot better so I went home with a regular bandaid with some neosporin on it... Yay!!!

The whole time the doctor was very nice and didn't act weird at all... He even commented that I was much more brave than most of his other patients and the pharmacist called me a sweetheart

I hope they have you on antibiotics.  But at least it is getting better.

Yes, I still have a couple of days antibiotics left from last week... Then it's just Neosporin and bandaids and then check back with the doctor in a few weeks unless it goes bad again  :)

Well finish them out and just keep it clean.  A scar will play help with the makeup.  I should know I have one on my neck.

Thank you Janet

Yes, there will definitely be a scar, but it looks like it will be just behind my jaw so hopefully it won't be too noticeable... And you're right, it should cover just fine with some concealer and foundation  :)
