After a very long wait (nearly a year of therapy followed by a 3 month wait period for the endo), I was given my first injection on March 25th, around 5pm. The whole experience was full of surprise because I had originally thought I would miss the nurse who was to be injecting me due to traffic. Lucky for me, she stuck around to do some extra paper work for the endo. Two days before my shot I spoke with my endo. A two hour wait period in the office had me nervous as could be but he (thankfully) reviewed my file before coming into the room and seemed very delighted to be dealing with me. He had me explain how I felt to him, how long I knew, and I lead up to my recommendation letter which made him very happy. He explained to me that he often did this sort of questioning to make sure individuals are prepared to the fullest for the transition they will go through.  So he had me do blood work and gave a prescription that same day which I picked up. :)

So, on the 25th, the nurse took me back with my best friend who's being taught how to 'stab' me until I can do it on my own. The initial piercing of the needle is what honestly hurt the most. Granted, my doctor prescribed me a smaller sized needle because I'm not that thick but my nurse said I might need to go up if I start packing on the muscle like planned. :P

This friday I have my second shot, which will be given to me by my friend. I'm already noticing some small but amusing changes in my body. My friends claim I'm presenting with more confidence now and that's great to hear.

That's my little story and I just wanted to share with all of you as you've been a great support thus far in my life.

Yeah. :D I'm super happy.
The only downside is I now have to deal with this complete ->-bleeped-<- at work who has banned me from using the mens room based on my 'plumbing', stating that until I have 'that surgery or whatever it is you do', I can NOT use the mens room under any circumstance. Oh, and mind you, I've been issued my male name tag and am required to wear the male uniform. However, I have to walk into the ladies room....I'm sure that's gonna fly well when they have a law suit on their ass from a pissed off lady who knows I'm a dude. In. The. Ladies. Room.  >:(

Ren, where do you live?  It seems like banning you from the mens room would count as illegal discrimination in most places.
Anyways, congratulations on the T  :)
Oh I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love

A blah blog

I'm not sure about the discrimination lawsuit but that sure sounds like something for human resources to handle if you work for a company that has an HR department and not just a little company. Congrats on starting T man!

Yeah, that's a civil right they're violating, dude. Can't descriminate against gender and whatnot. Might wanna let that jerk know he's got a case on his hands if he wants to make this an issue for you.

Come to find out this jerk had gone over my store manager and didn't bother getting in touch with the head of HR. HR actually backs me fully. :D They said I have the right to use the mens room in the back for now and the front once I get further along on transition. My manager is giving me his personal cell number incase something else ever comes up. I also found from my doc that he might up my levels early because my natural T levels are the highest someone born in the wrong body can have. :D On the downside, I suspect I'll have girl problems for a while...

Congrats!
I can't wait until I can be the one to say this.  :)
Every day brings me one step closer to being myself.
