Dating other coworkers is somewhat frowned upon, but especially when one of them is the others' supervisor. Since I am on a management level in a round about way, I am everyones supervisor. And there's two guys who've been asking me out... I really like one of them and we've been hitting it off, strictly platonically speaking; but it keeps popping up in the back of my mind that I shouldn't be doing this.
It's alright to just continue to have lunch with him but keep it at that level, right?
The other guy is a different story alltogether. I hired him several months ago. Plus, he drives, so he could pick me up, take me out, whatever. Also, he's the only one in the store who I text on a regular basis after hours.
Do any of you have experiences like this? How can I handle all of this while being able to have fun with it while keeping it all in bounds?

My policy is not to do it, period.  There's just so many ways it could go bad and there's plenty of people outside of work to date.

I so agree.  And having been upper management, I would have to ether demote, transfer or fire over this kind of relationship.  Right wrong or indifferent, management is held to a higher standard, and the higher up the ladder, the higher the standard.

I understand and I wouldn't but for the fact that I have such little social life outside of work. It saddens me a bit because I have minimal other fun except for my best friend who I go shopping with all the time, and my boyfriend only comes over approx every other weekend for several hours. Oh well.

If that little voice is saying you shouldn't be doing this, its a good chance you can get in trouble for it and for good reason. I have a minimal life right now. Work, go home, homework, sleep and repeat. Also paying off debt which I accumulated in the past 5 years. So I understand what it is like, but the risk outweighed the benefit of dating someone. But here is my take on the whole Supervisor/subordinate relationship 

Supervisor/subordinate relationships is a big no-no where I work. Get caught your butt is either forced to transfer or you have to resign or get fired as Janet said.  As for the lunch thing it should remain at a professional level though, it really takes one mistake and one other employee to misinterpret what is going on. Not sure what exactly your line of work is, but where I work when people pick up on something like this, good god the rumors fly off the handle.

It's easy to be attractive to people you work with. You spend at least 8 hours a day with them if you work full-time. You learn how they tick, so its human to feel attractive, but got to remember to keep it professional. I seen a few co-workers date each other it usually turns out really bad for each other more so for a person that is a supervisor because all the little policies everyone tends to forget about.

That is my two cents on dating in the workplace.

Thank you for your insight Jen. Since I don't wish to say too much about my job here yet, I'll take everything into consideration. Technically, I am not a manager at all but do play a sufficient supervisory role. (We have over 100 employees currently!)
And something I forgot to mention: the guy who I go out to lunch with invited me to his birthday party this weekend!

Going to a party is one thing but a relationship is another. Anyone working in a boy/girl environment is going to meet cute people. Keep them as friends and NEVER in a relationship, unless you are willing to leave. When things go wrong, they go wrong and you are in very deep shaving cream (see one of Virginia Marie's posts about guys shaving). It's a Y-tube .

Not at all, he apperciates that I tell him everything and that there aren't any secrets between us. Secrets are the worst form of infidelity!
