So I've been having huge issues with my lower parts.

Not too long ago, I had a 50 day period (12-24-10 to 2-11-11) , in which I was sent to the ER to find if I had cysts. They said they didn't see any, as well as the fact I was THOROUGHLY embarrassed because the ER nurses kept calling me "she" and had me in the woman's room, and the jaws of life.

Then, I had a 2 week period (3-11-11 to 3-25-11) and then had a ONE DAY super heavy period (4-3-11).

My periods have always been very irregular, heavy, crazy, and basically the huge reason that I'm anemic. Not only that, but they are immensely painful, the contractions being up to a 9 out of 10 scale, and always lasting different times.

I am waiting on a referral that might take up to 10 months for an Endo because I'm poor and have to wait. But I just want to know if I should try not to have my hopes up. Or if I shouldn't push for a hysto or whatever if it might make them back off and tell me I can't have one because well... I would LOVE one.

I just don't want to be in so much pain all around anymore. :|

I don't know anything about this, but those are definitely compelling medical reasons.

Have you been to see a gynecologist yet?

I haven't gotten a hysterectomy myself but I am seeing a gynecologist for one because of really bad back and pelvic pain that make it so I either can't get out of bed or have to go to emergency because the pain is so bad I'm tears.

There was one thing my doctor told me about getting one and that is age. I'm only twenty so my likelihood of getting one, despite being in pain, completely depends on this specialist and if the surgeon is willing to operate.

Also it's best to find a trans friendly gynecologist just because from what I have heard from the few people I've read about/talked to about hysterectomies is that they will commonly recommend it as necessary.

Have you talked to your doctor yet? Or do you have a doctor? More then one opinion on the necessity of a hysterectomy, according to my doctor is beneficial. Doctors see hysterectomies as a pretty big deal, so be aware of that. I admit there are risks, though the fatality rate is low, but still they want to be able to avoid it some other way. Perhaps if they know you are trans they will push more for it because they know you have no use/desire to keep it, unlike some women who desire to have children later but go through the same crap.

Holy crap! 50 days?! I'd freak long before that! And damn, most people freak out because I can naturally go 3-6 months without a period. I have cramps nearly every day though, regardless. Ugh!

that's crazy!  if you have insurance or money, i recommend shopping around for a sympathetic gyno who might let you get a hysto.  i wish i had better advice for you.   

Most of us would like to get a hyster ASAP.  Finding a trans friendly GYN is a good first step and having a good medical need to have one.  Keep a history of all your problems and symtoms so you have a record to show the GYN.  Age can be a problem, I am 22 and many dr want you to older and have had several kids.  No kids ever for me.

I do have a referral (mentioned above) from the nurse practitioner that is prescribing me T. I'm not sure if the Endo is LGBT+ friendly or not, but the office I go to is. (Though more for MtFs). Doing this because this is as close to insurance I have, since I am extremely hurting on money. (I'm suppose to pay $10 copay per visit, but the front desk clerk waves the fee for me. aka... doesn't bill me)
23, never want kids and in fact, would probably have to be hospitalized in an asylum if ever got preg because I wouldn't want to live after.

I have been keeping record now, and been trying to find if I wrote down any others (thus why I gave dates for these), and have one of the most crapped up backs for a 23, which is why, among everything else (maybe the fact that if you try to print out the email I sent him it'd be about... oh... 8 pages? stating what I knew, how I felt, and how I was damn sure who I was, and even if I wanted to remain female, F--- breasts.) I was able to fast-track to getting top surgery.

I'll just hope that the Endo/GYN whatever is Trans-friendly.

I guess a question I have is what age if you had a Hysto, and if young, how did you manage to? What should I tell them? Etc.
