I'm the same way about my hair. It used to be waist length, and having short hair is pretty much a symbol of my masculinity.
I have dreams where I have long hair, but it usually doesn't affect me in the dream. I do have nightmares about my body though. And then I have dreams where I'm a girl, and there's no focus on that.
I had dream that I was pregnant a few weeks ago. I woke up sweaty - my clothes were sticking to me and I was about to cry. It was awful.
Oh God, the pregnancy dream. I've yet to encounter that shiz.

Um this is kinda freaky... Every dream I have had for the past few months has been with me and longer hair, but it's subtle, it's not what the dream is ever about and every time I wake up, look in the mirror and go - OH that was a DREAM that my hair was long.
The only difference is that I do want to grow it again, at least shoulder length but in a guy style like Christian Slater or something. Partly because I want hair to headbang with and eventually when I am on T just grow it out like a metaller again, and partly because my semi-not-actually- girlfriend prefers long hair.
OH I did have a nightmare where I was pregnant, and nobody could understand why this was a problem for me and I was not allowed to abort- I had just that day learnt how to tie several knots including the hangman's noose, and in the dream a big burly black guy was tying it for me to hang myself because I decided that I'd rather die than go through being pregnant. I was hysterical the whole way through the dream it was pretty bad.
This is interesting that we're having similar dreams...
you dreamed you were preggers too? oh man.. I'm not sleeping tonight just in case. Just the idea that I have those organs and the ability to get pregnant pretty much repulses me

I think we do dream about our fears and insecurities, or things that bother us and worry us. And those kinds of things usually come in a weird to bizarre form. I've had bizarre dreams all my life, but lately they have just some little element of my real life worries and concerns in them. But it's just so bizarre over all!
Oh, definitely yeah! I think this is bothering me so much because normally I don't see myself as distinctly as i do in those nightmares, the focus was totally on me :/

This is so weird!!!! For the first month n a half after i cut my hair i had a nightmare every night where i reached back and could grab enough hair for a ponytail, then all of a sudden it was long again. i would have no way to cut it, and i would wake up in a panic. i must have had over 50 of these same nightmares. it was horrible. finally i went to the barber and was like i want it as short as can be. i get a one on the sides and two on top now, and i no longer have those nightmares. thats weird though...
how long was yours before you cut it? Just curious dude. That sounds almost exactly what my dreams are like. The no way of cutting it thing is the worst bit. I have no idea what numbers my hair is, but I have the sides and back buzzed a bit and the top left slightly longer so I can spike it up at the front or just leave down flat. Idid used to have it really short that it was fuzzy at the back but I think the inch or two at the back suits me a little better. I'm always thinking of new cuts I could try though, like shaved a lot more at the sides (not so much that you can see skin but enough to see a difference)

I dont have hair dreams but i do have one weird dream that drives me nuts. Its mostly the same but it veries sometimes but its all around my teeth.
the most common sernario is that im eating/ walking around somewhere and i feel a tooth starthing to crumble and as i spit out the crumbled tooth i run my tounge around my other teeth and they all start to crumble in my mouth and my gums begin to bleed all over the place. Ive woken up spitting into my pellow becouse of it. it is also one of those realistic dreams where the feeling of everything is hightened.
i went online after the 6th time i had this dream to see if there was in inside meanings and some of the main meanings is that there is something your mind is freaking about concerning your outward apearence becouse teath represent a personal beauty in socity. I also went to the dentist and got 3 cavities filled the following month so who knows but I know that I usually have issues with my outward apearence like most of us.
ahh the teeth dream, I've had that once or twice. To have it so much as yourself must suck, man. I reckon I should have it a lot more than I do, though, as I'm very conscious of my appearance and how people see me.
interesting replies, cheers. I'm interested to hear more iews/ stories though
