Alright dudes, I felt compelled to post this as it's really grinding my gears right now.
For the past few nights (and indeed the past few months) I keep having this dream, well it's more of a nightmare. Basically it goes like this.. I'm feeling happy and maybe going to meet some friends when I look in the mirror and see my hair has grown back long when I thought it was still short! At this point I freak out and start trying to find scissors or something to cut it short again. Each time I dream it, I seem to flip out more and more each time.

I wake up feeling angry that it had grown back and have to feel my neck to reassure myself that it's still short.

:/ :/

Am I the only one to have dreams/ nightmares like this? I feel it's probably related to how I want people to see me (as a guy) and how i want to feel within myself. I know men can have long hair but for me somehow my short hair  (used to be past shoulder length) is almost a symbol of my masculinity

I dunno..I'm tired and wondering if anyone can relate or whatever  :embarrassed:

I'm the same way about my hair. It used to be waist length, and having short hair is pretty much a symbol of my masculinity.

I have dreams where I have long hair, but it usually doesn't affect me in the dream. I do have nightmares about my body though. And then I have dreams where I'm a girl, and there's no focus on that.
I had dream that I was pregnant a few weeks ago. I woke up sweaty - my clothes were sticking to me and I was about to cry. It was awful.

Um this is kinda freaky... Every dream I have had for the past few months has been with me and longer hair, but it's subtle, it's not what the dream is ever about and every time I wake up, look in the mirror and go - OH that was a DREAM that my hair was long.

The only difference is that I do want to grow it again, at least shoulder length but in a guy style like Christian Slater or something. Partly because I want hair to headbang with and eventually when I am on T just grow it out like a metaller again, and partly because my semi-not-actually- girlfriend prefers long hair.

OH I did have a nightmare where I was pregnant, and nobody could understand why this was a problem for me and I was not allowed to abort- I had just that day learnt how to tie several knots including the hangman's noose, and in the dream a big burly black guy was tying it for me to hang myself because I decided that I'd rather die than go through being pregnant. I was hysterical the whole way through the dream it was pretty bad.

This is interesting that we're having similar dreams...

I think we do dream about our fears and insecurities, or things that bother us and worry us. And those kinds of things usually come in a weird to bizarre form. I've had bizarre dreams all my life, but lately they have just some little element of my real life worries and concerns in them. But it's just so bizarre over all!  :-\

This is so weird!!!! For the first month n a half after i cut my hair i had a nightmare every night where i reached back and could grab enough hair for a ponytail, then all of a sudden it was long again. i would have no way to cut it, and i would wake up in a panic. i must  have had over 50 of these same nightmares. it was horrible. finally i went to the barber and was like i want it as short as can be. i get a one on the sides and two on top now, and i no longer have those nightmares. thats weird though...

I dont have hair dreams but i do have one weird  dream that drives me nuts. Its mostly the same but it veries sometimes but its all around my teeth.

the most common sernario is that im eating/ walking around somewhere and i feel a tooth starthing to crumble and as i spit out the crumbled tooth i run my tounge around my other teeth and they all start to crumble in my mouth and my gums begin to bleed all over the place. Ive woken up spitting into my pellow becouse of it. it is also one of those realistic dreams where the feeling of everything is hightened.

i went online after the 6th time i had this dream to see if there was in inside meanings and some of the main meanings is that there is something your mind is freaking about concerning your outward apearence becouse teath represent a personal beauty in socity.  I also went to the dentist and got 3 cavities filled the following month so who knows but I know that I usually have issues with my outward apearence like most of us.

you dreamed you were preggers too? oh man.. I'm not sleeping tonight just in case. Just the idea that I have those organs and the ability to get pregnant pretty much repulses me  :embarrassed:

Oh, definitely yeah! I think this is bothering me so much because normally I don't see myself as distinctly as i do in those nightmares, the focus was totally on me :/ :(

how long was yours before you cut it? Just curious dude. That sounds almost exactly what my dreams are like. The no way of cutting it thing is the worst bit. I have no idea what numbers my hair is, but I have the sides and back buzzed a bit and the top left slightly longer so I can spike it up at the front or just leave down flat. Idid used to have it really short that it was fuzzy at the back but I think the inch or two at the back suits me a little better. I'm always thinking of new cuts I could try though, like shaved a lot more at the sides (not so much that you can see skin but enough to see a difference)

ahh the teeth dream, I've had that once or twice. To have it so much as yourself must suck, man. I reckon I should have it a lot more than I do, though, as I'm very conscious of my appearance and how people see me.

interesting replies, cheers. I'm interested to hear more iews/ stories though  :police:

A few months ago I was watching WAY too much Dexter and also reading my kids Charlie and the Chocolate Factory every day and I had a really freaky dream about killing and dismembering oompa loompas.  It made an awesome Facebook status, though.

Last night I had a dream where I was playing around and shaved my head (I'm scheduled to shave it for a fundraiser in a few weeks) and I had to call the principal and tell her we couldn't do our fundraiser because I'd accidentally shaved my head too early.
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it's alright, then you're all wrong.
Why bounce around to the same damn song?

I had a bad dream last night. I dreamt that I was going to get my hair cut, and that the woman didn't want to cut a "male" hair cut on a girl, and that she didn't want to be responsible for making me look more masculine. Then I was being forced to wear these like ridiculous dresses that was pink and frilly and sparkled, and they were making me like model then. I kept falling on the ground weeping. Then after that They stripped me down and made me look in a mirror and kept saying "look at your body! You're a woman" I just kept crying and shaking...
I woke up in sweats...
