I think it mostly depends on how you look at it, since there are pros and cons to everything.
Personally, I always wanted an adventure, like the Conquistadors or Lewis and Clark (without wiping out civilizations,) but it seemed that all the exciting stuff had already been done. Now, even if I were cis, if I lived life without fear or regrets, it'd still be an adventure, but adding being trans to that makes it even more... interesting, for lack of a better word.
I know what you mean by it being exciting. I may very well lose everything within the next few months to half a year, and it's scary and saddening at times, but I'm never bored either.
