am actally intersex (though not to such such a large extent), i was still pretending to be a boy last year. 19 years old 6 hairs on my chin, very fine hairs above the lip; dad commented on the un-manlyness. the shock he had when i told him, jokes on him now. there is just too little to even try to shave it so i just pluck them out, but now i been told plucking damges the roots which makes laser harder.

who has a "real" facial hair who also pluck them before, is it really harder? been doing it a alot now so its a bit late to stop (they grow out again in 3 weeks)
is the cost based on per hair? it needs to be done but it seems to costly to get rid of six, six whole hairs

Hi Fate,

It won't anything like we are paying and will take a few minutes. Go in for a test and quote I think you will be pleasantly surprised. You sound that you are at a hair level that most woman have when going for laser, rather than our somewhat increased hair level for women.

If you have only a few hairs, electrolysis may give you more bang for your buck. With laser, you pay per area per session. The areas I've seen offered are upper lip, chin, neck, or whole face. With electrolysis, you pay by time. Since it is done one hair at a time, you are essentially paying by the hair. So if you have sparse hair, I'd wager you'd save money with electrolysis. Plus, electrolysis is more effective at permanently destroying a follicle.

Some laser places will charge by time too. I pay by the minute, and I'm saving a ton of money vs what I'd be paying if i were paying the rates for face+chest+stomach+pubic mound at some places.

Fate you'd definitely want to go the electro route for that small a number of hairs.

I look in Argos and on e-bay all the time rubbing my chin about all the lazer gizmo's and think of getting one .
Inside my head (which is very aaarrrrrgh) im saying no no no don't be stupid.
That is easier said than done ....lol
What if i was to buy one and weaken what is there already and then get zapped by the professionals .
I have had all sorts of thoughts go through my head that is more like self harm than treatment for dealing with issues of hair growth on my body.
None of which i have carried out you may be glad to hear but i did but the most expensive electric shaver i could ...blagging myself that i have done everything i can to get the closest shave i can and i can carry it around with me .
Now i have had my 6th appointment with my theropist and given feed back to my GP and fingers crossed charring cross allow me to join so i can get real treatment and save me from my D.I.Y skills .... argos is a bad influence .... lol
