For over a year or so, I've had reoccuring UTI infections. I'll get one, get meds, it'll go away for a couple months, come back, etc. It's extremely humiliating because I'm treated with very little respect if I go to the ER, and don't have the money to go running to my doctor every time it happens.

I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. Could it be related to the packer? I use a sock to hold it in place, so I wonder if that holds moisture there, creating an environment for bacteria. However, I don't know how else I'd hold it in place because I'm really active, and not using a sock to hold it wouldn't be enough. Or could be my stp causing it?. I hate to even write any of this because it forces me to think about my body, which I'd rather not do.

The STP can cause the repeated UTI;s. You need to sterilize it  or you are transferring the infection back to yourself with each use. Cranberries, (berry or juice form) can help prevent the infections. drink a lot of cranberry juice in the morning every day.

Even better than cranberry juice is the extract from cranberries in pill form. I've bought this stuff before: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=F3-1038 Lot easier to take than then juice!

I use to get frequent UTIs. Turns out they can be pretty easy to get. Heck, even wiping back-to-front after using the bathroom can cause them.
I never went to the doctor to treat them, just drink lots of water and try some cranberry extract. Most cranberry juices you get will be juice blends or a cocktail, which is more sugar than juice. Do a little research as to the causes of UTIs and do your best to avoid them, and you'll have them much less.

Ditto on drinking lots of water which does work great and is free verse juices. I use to get them a lot but since i drank lots of water i seemed to have flushed it out.

I've been on T for a year.
I would ignore teh infections, but they get to the point where it goes into my kidneys and I start vomitting violently. Fun.
I sucked it up and went to the er for another round of humiliation, but luckily I got a doctor who wasn't an ->-bleeped-<-. My primary doc is also my t prescribing doctor, so I'm gonna go to him and see what's up. Screw the topical estrogen stuff...I'd never do that. The hospital referred me to an obstetrician and I scoffed, because I refuse to go to one. I'm not a woman. I refuse.

If any of this is blunt, well...it's cause I'm stubborn and I have my comfort levels. Put the two together.

I DO appreciate the input though, I don't mean for any of this to sound harsh towards anyone.

Gender aside, they should not have referred you to an obstetrician.  They should have referred you to a urologist.

Because as soon as I was like, "I know its a UTI", the doc was like "guys don't usually get UTIs". Plus, they had my old ->-bleeped-<- on file, and I guess it still popped up in their lab work last time as the old name >.<

I get UTI's all the time ... infact I am on antibotics for one right now.

I have worked out a system/procedure with my doctor -- she knows I hate anyone touching or messing around down there ... so I call and say I have a UTI ... she sends orders down to the lab ... I pee in a cup and she calls in antibotics -- no one has to touch my junk.  She also knows that I won't use the cream for the infection that follows so she calls in the pill to cover that when I am done with antibotics.

Talk with your doc and maybe you can avoid having to have anyone mess with your junk.
