I'm now laying on a couch at the recovery centre in Montreal, 3 days post op.  I still haven't seen the results of the surgery but it gets unwrapped tomorrow.  I'm so excited.  I'm in pain but this is sooooooo worth it.  I feel more feminine now with no make up on, no skirts, no heels and, most importantly, no lumps than I've ever had and it just gets better from here.

Great to hear you are doing so well.  I hope you like the results when you see them.  I know you be happy not to see your old parts there and to have a nice feminine appearance.

On Wednesday I got the catheter out and I had problems peeing after that.  If I really concentrated and really forced it I'd be able to pee.  A painful process.  I figured I'd go with the pain and hope it would get easier as the swelling went down.  Bad plan.  I got home yesterday and still had the problem but early this morning I had to go to the emerg with a very full bladder.  I couldn't pee at all!  So I'm at home again, typing with another catheter in, and wondering what am I going to do.

Two people had the same issue when I was in Montreal.  They each went home with their catheters in and had them removed a week or so later.  My surgery partner had the worst of it--same issue as you actually.  She did fine after awhile, you will too!   :)  I can only imagine that it's not too much fun with that thing still hanging there, but the swelling will subside and everything will be back to normal soon--just don't force anything or worry about it.

I had the same issue and had to literally try very hard AND hold my labia open. It was still a long process and I swear I had to pee like every hour or so for a while. And it never all came out at once.

Catheter for a while is probably the easier way to go except how annoying it is.

hope it gets better soon!

Yay!  My plumbing is working!  I had the second catheter removed this morning and was well hydrated to see if it would work okay.  It worked great and I'm so relieved.

For me it would be a toss-up as to what I hated more - the stent or the catheter.

Lol I'd agree with that. The stitches hold that stent in were pure hell

Another update to my pee problem.  The day, Monday, I had the second catheter removed it was so easy to pee it was wonderful.  However, that night I work up to pee and it wouldn't come.  You can imagine the thoughts running through my head then!  I tried again in a little bit and it did work with a bit of force.  I went out Wednesday and while I was out I used the washroom and had a really painful pee.  When I got home and used the washroom again it was easy like Monday.  I don't know what happened but it worked again and is still working.  Since then, however, I've noticed that I'm leaking.  I think I strained the valve that controls the flow.  I'm expecting it to go back to normal, soon I hope.

I had some of this issue. The leaking will slowly subside but you can do excerises if you continue having the problem. I went through a period at first everytime I woke up at night I'd have some leakage but it has slowly gone away.

As far as the peeing issue. You will continue to have more swollen times than others. Especially if you are sitting for long periods of time. I can get up in the am and pee normally and then all of a sudden it'll go off in one direction. Especially if I have been sitting for a while. Give it time, as long as you are able to pee take it one day at a time. If the leaking issue doesn't correct then consult Dr Brassard
