Hello All. Been awhile since I last posted.

I have been on T since August of 2010. Recently I have noticed that I have to squint to see the TV guide on my TV as well as other things. Have any of you experienced this as a side effect? I have permeant contacts inside my eyes, which cost a pretty penny about 5 years back so I am not real excited about the prospect of contacts or glasses, again.

I have been talking and hanging out with this girl. She has dated men and women and does not like to label herself in regards to sexuality. I am not quite sure when or if there is a right time to tell her I am Trans. I pass fairly well, but no top surgery yet. I hope to get insurance to cover the surgery for this summer. Any tips for how to tell her? I think we all have the fear of rejection do to our trans status, but this is more difficult as I really like her. I dont find many girls I am into in all aspects.

Also, I am currently looking into prosthetics. I have read a lot on the site about each of them. Anyone have experience with them sexually?

Thanks!
Brady

First question, yes I did definitely notice a difference in my glasses prescription.  I've had to get two pairs in a single year which was tough considering they are not cheap.  Hopefully my eyes have stopped changing because it's killing my pocket book.

If you are seriously considering forming an intimate relationship with this girl you should tell her as soon as you can.  That way if it really is not what you or she wants no one's time is wasted.  The way to do it is just to state it as a fact.  You were born different but still awesome.  Don't apologize or give her cause to feel sorry for you.  There are plenty of ways around your limitations and you are plenty creative enough to know most of them.  Just take it slow and have fun.

http://www.vixencreations.com/store/goodfella.html  Goodfella is the most popular with FTM's it seems with good reason.  For the price it's somewhat realistic and certainly fun to play with.  However you do need to buy a harness as well for it.  For packing I use Lola Jack Packer which cost my a good chunk of change.  Probably over priced but it's nice to be able to glue it to me without having to wear a harness all day long.

My eyesight changed rapidly during puberty v1.0.  On T, my eyesight worsened a bit, but not as drastically as it did when I was a teenager.  My eyesight stabilized when I was in my early 20's (prior to taking T), enough for my eye doctor to say I was now a candidate for laser eye surgery.

Before starting T, I read somewhere that even eyes are responsive to hormones.  Some Google digging should turn up some relevant articles.  Seeing as how no research has really been done to link T usage in FtMs with eyesight changes,  I held off on Lasik because I worried that T might cause my eyesight to change.

Hey man.  :)

I currently have the Sam Plus from Lola Jake. I LOVE the fact that it's glued to me and it really does feel like a part of me.  I haven't used it for sex with someone else yet  ;) but I'd say that it would be fine.  The glue they say to use from Factor II (BT-460) is really good, but I think it's their tape kit that makes the prosthetic stick well.  The prosthetic itself is pretty realistic.

That being said I think the prosthetic from ReelMagik - http://www.reelmagik.com/REELMAGIK/STORE-Medical_Prosthetics.htm l - is WAY better.  I've never seen a prosthetic that looks so real.  I've even heard of other gay guys using it stealth, that's how good it is.  I have heard that the glue they give you isn't very good so I'd suggest getting the BT-460 and maybe look into seeing if you can get the tape kit from Lola Jake to put on the back of the ReelMagik.

Have you ever had a prosthetic?

I think we all have the fear of rejection do to our trans status

All men trans or not fear rejection because in this game the girls hold the all the cards and get to make the call.  It's always a risk, because the outcome is never preordained.  But, you can't win if you don't play.  And if she rejects you, remember there are more than 3 billion other women on the planet, move on to the next one.

I never heard that it could make your vision worse either. I wonder if I will need glasses. I'm literally the only person in my family that I have met that does not wear glasses.

Aww, my eyesight is already crappy. I was lazy-eyed when I was a kid, and apparantly they didn't correct it as well as they should have had, which explains why I can see double sometimes and stuff. Apparantly, I can't use 100% of my eyes, either. So if T makes my eyesight worse, I dunno what I'll do.

Here's a link to one of the articles (from 2005): http://www.surveyophthalmol.com/article/S0039-6257(05)00006-8/abstract

And here's the abstract:
Quote
Abstract
Dissimilarities in ocular physiopathology exist between human males and females. These differences can be observed in the lacrimal and other eye-associated glands, the ocular surface, the crystalline lens, and the retinochoroid complexes. Literature on the subject revealed that because of sex steroid hormone (estrogen, progesterone, and androgen) actions, various physiological conditions, such as age, menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and menopause or andropause, where the hormone milieu changes, affect vision. Well-designed scientific studies are lacking on the subject, although such studies hold much potential value. This review analyzes the relatively new area of hormones and vision.

Again, nothing definite about how this affects transsexuals and it even says that the relationship between hormones and vision is a "new area" (as of 2005)--but interesting nonetheless.

I have the sam plus from LJ. And have used it numerous times for sex. I'm satisfied with it as far as sex goes,  but not so much the look of it. It's peeling in certain areas, and is pretty shiny. From the couple girls I've been with using it, they've all said they can't tell the difference aside from the tab part. But in the actual act, they said it feels like "real" dick.
I plan on getting one from ReelMagik. They look 100% more realistic. And I like the fact you don't have to insert a rod in it every time you want to have sex.
As far as the eye's, I'm 3 years on T - and noticed within the first couple months on T my eyes staring getting fuzzy. I'm not sure if it's T related, or just a part of getting older though.
