The classic computer translation story comes out of IBM in the late 60's (yeah, I heard it when it was new).

IBM was attempting to come up with a Russian-English translator.  For one of the tests, the fed it the phrase: "Out of sight, out of mind" and had it translate it into Russian.

They then took the resultant output and fed it back through to translate it from Russian to English. 

The output came back as: "Invisible Idiot."

There are many idiots I wish were invisible!
